Great win by the Flames tonight! The boys are definitely firing on all cylinders right now. Kipper has been amazing, our defence and special teams have been rock-solid, and we're suddenly getting offence from all directions. With Colorado losing to San Jose tonight, we now have a 5 point lead in the hunt for the division title. All is well in Cowtown!

big game for Montreal tonight against the Sens, i remember what happened last time they hooked up, the game was over in the 1st period with Montreal up 4-0...
probably won't be that easy tonight, but as long as we come away with the 2 points i don't care what the score is.

These damn Leafs are making it hard for me to be mad at them...they just won't go away. Having won 9 out of a possible 10 points in the last 5 games they have made me hold on to my hopes of them making the playoffs yet. The only problem is the teams they are trying to catch are also playing really well these days.
As much as I'd like to see them make it, a small part of me would like to see them miss the post-season, I think that would be the catalyst for a much-needed MAJOR shakeup for this squad. And personally I think the first one to go is John Ferguson Jr....he's just got that smug, shit-eating look on his face that makes you not want to like him. Aside from my distain for his appearance, his managerial moves have ALL been disappointments, he's really done nothing substantial for the betterment of this team since coming on board...in my opinion he's another Rob Babcock.

It's great to see Stevie Yzerman playing well, stretched his point streak tonight to 10 games.
Brad Richards is playing very well lately too, he's got a 10 game point streak of his own, during which he has 18 points. He's scored 2 shootout winners in that stretch too! He's definitely one of the best shoot out players in the league, almost money in the bank.

Flames 2, Wild 1
Another game, another win, and a 6 point cushion in the hunt for the division title! Tomorrow's game against the 'Nucks will be very interesting. The Flames will be playing their 2nd night of back-to-back games with travel in between, so they might be a little tired. (in other words, the Canuckleheads might actually have a chance, haha) Even with all their injuries, Calgary has been playing their best hockey of the year lately, and they already seem to be in playoff mode. Will the 'Nucks be able to get their s**t together and keep their playoff hopes alive? I guess we'll find out. Regardless of the outcome, this is still the best rivalry in the NHL and I expect tomorrow's game will be a good one. I predict Vancouver will play a spirited game and put up a good fight, but in the end they won't be able to withstand Calgary's punishing forecheck or get enough pucks past Kipper. Flames win 3-1.

In other news, Kiprusoff got his 40th win tonight, officially breaking Mike Vernon's record for most wins in a season by a Flames goalie. In honor of this great milestone in Calgary Flames history, I give you the Kipper Special!

Huge day in the NHL today, Anaheim, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Calgary & Colorado all in action in the west...and although i think the playoff spots are all set in the East, still important games such as Montreal/New Jersey seeding.
The Vancouver game tonight is huge, as close to a must win as your going to get. If they lose, the Sharks will have 2 games in hand.
