Sorry biga but i'm gonna have to call you on that...this is Granville St. and the Commodore we're talking about right? There are plenty of bars.
1. The Lennox - Robson/Granville - mere steps away
2. The Speakeasy - Smithe/Granville - mere steps away in the other direction
3. Crepe Cafe - right beside the Commodore (not a bar but will serve you a beer in a pinch - also, not bad for Crepes!)
4. Roxy Burger - across the street from The Speakeasy if that is full
5. Loose Moose - Nelson/Granville - a couple of blocks away but off the beaten path (on Nelson) but a personal favourite of mine
6. Doolins - and if you're willing to walk that far (the Loose Moose) then Doolins is right on the corner of Granville/Nelson and is pretty decent
If you want more choices I got 'em but I hope this puts everyone in the right mood - the having a beer with MAv mood. For all he's done for us, I for one, am looking forward to raising a glass with him (and i'll even pay for it too!). Hope this works out MAv and we get to see you soon.
All for now,
Aaron

I have the day off as well but Kat is getting called to the bar tomorrow morning and we've got tons of family in town. I'm already a little in the dog house for going to the show but everyone understands. Kat will not be coming with me, but my buddy Jon has happily agreed to take her place (not as cute as Kat but he's a big fan of the Hip so that makes it better...plus he's psyched to see them in a small venue).
All that to say I'm going to try to make myself available at least for a beer before the show but I've got dinner plans at 5:30 then Jon and I are hopping in a cab to be at the Commodore for 8 to get our tickets and enjoy the show! So keep me in the loop about beer o'clock and I'll do my best to be there.
All for now,
Aaron

As family dinners go I don't think we'll be done in time to make it down for a beer at that time so we might have to take a pass but Jon and I will try. Won't you guys be in line for tickets at that time anyway?
Personally, I was thinking earlier like 4 or something with plenty of time to get in the line-up.
All for now,
Aaron

And as I said before, I've got family commitments spread throughout the day but will try and make it for the beer.
Adrian, will you or TLB have a cell with you? I'll try and call and let you know how my day is shaping up at that time. PM me you're # if you do.
All for now,
Aaron

I'm good for anytime whatsoever - the earlier the better.
Some of the best memories come from pre-show lineups/hook-ups. The times spent catching up with old friends & forging relationships with new friends completes any concert experience.

Does anyone know what time the boys are suppose to be on stage tomorrow night... and also I think there is an opener, right?
I'm just wondering because I'm set to meet Kelman for the ticket tomorrow night, but just realized on the website that it says :
"Registered Users must enter the venue immediately after receiving their tickets"
So I'm guessing I'll have to coordinate to meet him before he picks up the tickets, otherwise he will be ushered in and unable to meet me. Can anyone clarify show start time and if there's an opener?

doors @ 8pm - TTH advertised the show with special guests
usually opener is on by 930 and plays about 40mins
the commodore then lets folks drink up for at least an hour
main act usually is on by 1130 and ends around 1am or so
