I hate how this thread went from things you hate to teacher debate back to things you hate.
HA! Just kidding! Sorry, couldn't resist!

Not to redirect the thread again, but I feel like I need to chime it. I haven't been on the board of late because I just started teaching full time for my last semester of placement. I am in at 7 every morning and am usually home around 6. Today ended a bit early because we (my host teacher and I) called an end to an unproductive rehearsal. Yes, I choose to work with the drama department, but that's because I enjoy it. I'm not being paid for this experience (essentially an unpaid internship), and my mentor gets no extra pay for working with the department. If I stay in this district, and continue to work the hours I do at the moment, and add in the time I spend working on planning and grading, I will make 4.50 an hour. I hardly think that qualifies as overpaid.
Furthermore, with whom I work are at a range of abilities. There's no such thing as the homogeneous classroom, or lesson or school. There are alternate plans, ability levels, groups, problems, questions, concerns, and languages. I have had to learn basic ASL, French, Italian, and German in order to communicate with my all of my students. Not to come off as the bitter bitch...but I doubt that this is common experience outside the field. Maybe it's my naiveity, or the fact that I haven't built up resources, but this is a hell of a lot of work. I, like others, do it because I love it, it is clearly not for the pay. The simple fact of the matter is, I'd like to be able to pay my rent, grocery bill, have enough for gas, and maybe a little something left over so I can attempt to piece together a social life, but I suppose that's too much to ask.

I hate that when its released I have to watch it on my crappy litle TV with its crappy little speakers. I am about 1 inch away from buying a sweet system just for this box set. Being in debt rules!

Thats does suck! Thats something else I really hate......waiting!!! One of my flaws is that I'm really impatient.
