I missed the HNIC and just get caught up on all things HIP and BAM - I get this - fantastic tune. love it all and can't wait to hear them extend this live as I sense the direction(s) this takes at the ~3:00 minute mark.

I could be way off, but at the very end of the song, a quick heartbeat-like sound begins which to me sounds like the beginning of another song. I hope this is true because I've always dug the "Lake Fever" into "Puttin Down" flowing sequence on "Music @ Work"

I do not think there has been a song yet that The Hip have played extensively during shows that has not made an album, ever.
I highly doubt either of these songs will not make the album.

And regarding At Transformation, I do not think this is a return to older albums at all. This song almost sounds like it could have been an outtake from any of the last three albums. To me it is missing a 'flow' just like many of their recent songs.

That is an absolutely atrocious album title. Can only hope this was a slice of Johnny's trademark sarcasm.

Totally unexpected. Unconventional. That's the best thing about this band. They don't keep trying the same things. It's always about the new. If the new is off the wall, then you know what, for a band of 30 years, all I can say is goddamn thank you for trying.

I get why they're calling it what they are; it's a return to their roots, back to basics, etc.

But really, where's the clever, literate side of the band? A title like In Between Evolution leaves a bit of mystery, whereas And Now For Plan A is just so obvious. Every single interview they'll do beforehand will talk about how the band is getting "Back to their roots," and it'll become a stale concept.

Idunno man...is that what they're saying? "Back to our roots?" Cause it if is, At Transformation doesn't show it at all.

I don't think the band could go back to strait-forward bluesrock if they tried.

Where's the clever side...well...comon, you know the answer to that. It's in the lyrics, man! Does an album title have to be cryptic for one to wonder what's inside? I think enough people across this country don't care about the Hip enough to wonder what's behind some "clever" album title.

What if the "cleverness" is actually a play on their career? People are thinking it's oh, they're going back to the good'ol days of Road Apples! But no, actually, it's what they've wanted to create all along? Idunno. I just don't throw so much weight behind an album title before I actually know wtf it's all about. The only exception in my experience being the title "Hospital Music" by Matt Good.
