TheHip say

Hi Folks,

Someone once said, all good things come to those who wait. Time and time again that statement proves to be true. November is once again an exciting time in the Hip camp. The band is into their US tour, the Canadian tour is approaching, The Tragically Hip in Bobcaygeon documentary is set for release and limited theatrical run and Now For Plan A will be released in Europe.

Just over a year ago, The Tragically Hip and 25,000 fans descended upon the grounds on Pigeon Lake in Bobcaygeon, ON for a sold-out show and director Andy Keen was there to film the monumental moments. Next week the infamous "Bobcaygeon" documentary will debut at the Bloor Cinema in Toronto. The film documents an inside view to one of the most anticipated events in Canadian music. The film will have very limited screenings in select theatres before the in-store release on BluRay and DVD on November 20th! Does anyone have any details about the DVD?

I've seen thehip.com posting but I am curious, it is DVD AND Blu-ray? Does anyone know how many discs, what the features are, how many songs, etc? Any details really...

I doubt there are any full songs as it's not a concert video.

Really? Lots of times these things get wrapped around full songs every 10 minutes or so. Sometimes there's a full concert separately. It appears to be 2 discs, no? It says combo....

In all of the interviews I've seen they state fairly explicitly that it's a documentary about the concert and that almost no concert footage is included.

I heard there is 4 songs on the dvd and the rest is the entire production from start to finish about the concert and what it takes to make it and about the fans.

It would be great if there was extras on the dvd of more songs.

I would have to agree.

so has anyone seen this thing yet... does it include material about the hideous lineups and total fuckup re bussing after the show?

Someone forgot about how if you trickle people into a festival a few buses at a time, they don't "trickle out" at the end of it - they all leave at once. Absolute shitshow.

I was about to order a copy when it hit me... "Would they be selling copies at the shows?"

Dana, are you going to Syracuse tonight?

Not Syracuse tonight
My buddy has an extra ticket and been bugging me, but:
Home from Syracuse 3am
Soccer game at 8am
Kids family Christmas pics at 11am
Leave for Salamanca show by 3
Hmm, I am getting old, what a fake fan I am
