Re what TTH thinks of covers.... I always wondered myself. I ran into the boys at the lounge in the Vancouver airport on the Friday just before the Junos (they too were coming from Seattle). I did not want to bug them for long during their down-time, but talked to Sinclair a bit and they signed for me (all but Paul who was not there). I mentioned to Gord S. that I was in one of the bands that has been paying tribute to their music on weekends (Little Bones, over 13 years with same 5 guys), and that I had always wondered what they thought of 'cover bands'. Gord said "thanks for doing that", and signed "thanks Dan". Both Gord S and Robbie turned to me when they left and wished me a good flight. I wanted to ask a hundred questions but did not want to impose.

I think it is very honourable Dan that you had the chance to bombard them with questions but chose otherwise. Downtime to the guys must be very important and yet they still signed your stuff. Nice!

I have to say guys, when the head bobbing started, I was in hysterics!
EDIT: That was a rubbish post, lets elaborate a little. I really liked Little Bones, they had a great sound and seemed really passionate. Much as others had said, I think the guy who sang for Wheat Kings had a great voice, their own material wasn't bad, but I wasn't too sold on the lyrics. As for the Practically Hip, I really felt for Trent he seemed a really nice guy, very passionate too. The lead singer was a grade A dick though!

That's a pretty fair summing up, actually. I think Stephen's missing a trick though, that version of Nautical Disaster was amazing!

I really enjoyed reading all the posts on this thread.
Thankfully, I'm glad I wasn't a part of the documentary.
And I missed seeing it on TV.
I always tried to stay out of the "who is the best" BS.
Don't care, never did.
In the end it will never matter.
I just play the tunz and have fun doing it.

This was on IFC the other night on Tribute bands. Not sure if you guys saw it again. Judging by the date it is not the first time it has aired.
I didn't see it all but it was pretty interesting. Cool to see some of the guys from this site on the show.
