I just got an email to say mine arrived. I am going to go check the mail, but it is strange. No more than two hours ago did Canada Post say it was just shipped. Well f*** that, Im going to go pick it!
So I would say keep checking your mail tonight. Gord might be coming down your chimney all night.

I called HMV this morning and reserved one of the vinyls that they have coming in. This is in Oshawa, so I was totally surprised that they'd have even one let alone a couple on the way. Only $30, so what I'm saying is that if anybody wants to save a couple on shipping, give your local HMV a shout and don't be surprised to find that they have a couple.

Picked up my copy today, it looks (and smells) amazing, but my turntable conked out on me so it's just a pretty piece of plastic until i find myself a new decent turntable.

Where would one buy a good sounding turntable and how much do they typically go for?

I am still waiting for my WATS vinyl. I pre-ordered it when it became first available from the gift shop. I received an email on Thursday saying Canada Post picked it up. Hopefully I will get it sometime next week.

If you're tech savy you can get turntables that can make mp3 or wav files that you can dump on to your computer and ipod. I've heard conflicting reports about the quality (maybe someone here can give their 2 cents on this) but I plan on checking some out this summer.

Yes, I've seen a model at Costco that does this.

My turntable has a built in CDR. The quality of the burn is to the point where I have to clean it up in Audacity if I want to share the music with those who do not appreciate the vinyl sound.
Back to the much narrower subject, I received my copy of "We Are The Same" on vinyl today (Happy Easter to you as well, Mom). I'm thrilled with how great it sounds. If only "Day For Night" had been released as a double record, as opposed to single, it would sound just as awesome.
Honestly, this is how music should sound. It was a treat to the ears, and I'm so glad to be part of it.
Cheers,
Pat

What is the difference between a double and single?
