Whom Are You Going To See ?

kleh Wrote:i think im goin to see sloan in a few weeks, the last time i did it was 1996, cripes.

At the Brewing Company? I'm going to be in NYC that night or else I probably would of checked it out. I most recently saw Sloan the last time they played the Confederation Centre in Charlottetown in 2013 and it was sooo bad. Like, terrible! I love Sloan though so would give them the benefit of the doubt!

Saw Jack in Halifax last week. His drummer is a monster! She's next level Meg White. Only disappointment was the length of the set, 18 songs. Looking back through some of the Canadian tour setlists it seems like we got the shortest show of the tour, which is a bit of a bummer.

Same. Got tickets for December 7th. I don't think I've seen them since 1998 or thereabouts.

Nice! Saw him about 6 or 7 times on this tour. Though Daru was an actual monster on drums, I much prefer this band to his last tour band. There was a lot of people in his last band that really demanded attention and it took away from the "Jack White" concert. This band is just sort of there in the background and doing their thing which shifts the energy back to Jack...feels a lot more like a White Stripes show..

I could go on and on about TPC.... I think they're fantastic.

'A Lesson in Crime' and 'Elephant Shell' are their first two records, and tbh, not my fav TPC (sounds a little too pop-punk a la Blink-182 for my current tastes), but the group has definitely matured their sound with their projects after those. They have three more albums and a double-EP after those, which are all fantastic IMO (Champ, Forcefield, Melon Collie and the Infinite Radness Pt. I & II, Tokyo Police Club).

First time I saw them I had not heard their albums and didn't appreciate the show as much as I should have. Don't make the same mistakes I did kleh!
