This. Is. Unbelievable.

The only light shed on this is that H. Sedin is doing good for my team. I think i am going to beat Trevor this week now.

When Price falls apart, he sure falls apart good.

This guy still doesn't have the mental game to be a great goaltender. Frustrating.

for risk of sounding too negative..ahem.. i didnt say it last nite, but i was sure he would get shelled in that game when i went to sleep after the first. Please tell me this isnt going to be like the all-star game, he gets smoked in front of his family and friends and falls to pieces?

Maybe skip on the money?

I hope not.

I put more on the fact they're on a west coast swing with back to back games this early in the season on that loss more than on Price, he did play real shitty but the team in front of him played worse.

Even with Markov healthy this could be considered one of the worse set of D, Hal Gill? he is not a NHL defenseman, he couldn't keep up if he was playing sledge hockey.

The D-man group isnt very good and was probably my biggest concern before the season started, and yes the whole team was terrible for the most part. But Price had the Calgary game off and was rested and should have been ready to go this early in the season, it was a let down. The d stinks, after Markov the talent level falls off far, Gorges is good he's top 4, Hamrlik is on the decline and the rest are average at best. This team still needs a big skilled forward and a top 2 d man who can play the puck and is reliable, add those two pieces and I think its a very good team. And if Price can keep steady, thats key. Just like with Roy he made average teams great teams.

This could be Gainey's fault if Price never fully develops, he put way too much on him too soon. They either should have kept Huet or found a veteran goalie to play with him and bring him along slowly. Gainey put it all on him and put him on pedestal and tossed him to the lions. Two crushing playoff defeats a horrible all star game and the Montreal fans and media all over him, what a way to start your career. If he survives he may turn out great.

I remember watching him playing Junior hockey here in the WHL and he was the same back then. Obviously in a different league to most of the other kids but when he fell apart, he didn't do it by half. Still, exciting to see WHL graduates playing in the NHL, Peter Mueller being our biggest export from Everett.

Another year, another Oilers team completely lacking in finish. If I had a dollar for every game we've blown in the last minute I'd have a heck of a lot of dollars.

Speaking of the Oilers, i just seen where Rob Schremp picked up an assist for the Islanders on Jon Sim's goal. I didn't realize he wasn't still Oilers property.

John Tavares with 2 more points so far tonight, he's off to a productive start, 5 points in his first 3 NHL games.

Although i'm sure there will be some growing pains this year, i'm excited at the future of the Rangers blueline. 4 of the current top 6 are under 25 years old. Marc Staal is one of the best young defensemen in the game. Dan Giradi is a solid defensemen & plays well with Staal. Matt Gilroy is quickly showing why he was so covetted this past off-season (with a reported 28 teams wanting to sign him). He's an excellent skater, and he's always joining the rush. He reminds me a lot of Mike Green in Washington. He pinches more than any Ranger defensemen, Brian Leetch included, in recent memory. And finally Michael Del Zotto has had a great start to the season. He's already on the board with 4 points in the first 4 games, i know it's still very early, but he's already shown he has the ability to quaterback a powerplay, something the Rangers haven't had since Leetch was traded to Toronto prior to the lockout.
And there are still plenty of good prospects in the sytem, such as Bobby Sanguinetti, Ryan McDonaugh, Ilkka Heikkinen, Michael Sauer, etc.

nice to see Komisarek get his face smashed into the glass last nite, and to cost his team another goal with a stupid penalty..

to use a brian burke phrase..

how's that "pugnatrucunacitdaraone" working out for your Leafs?

I admit were not lighting it up either, but this winless streak sure is fun to watch.

I hope you hand Boston one of the top picks next year.

Komisarek needs to give his head a shake. He's been just as much of a liability as Toskala has been so far. Taking stupid penalties on a team that has had an atrocious penalty kill this year is just plain irresponsible.

When Gustavsson comes back, he's going to be the #1 in Toronto this year.

and on another note -- George Laraque vs Octane Girls
(if only he could dance around defenders like that in the NHL)

Over the years, notoriety has typically been Georges Laraque's ally, but perhaps no longer.

The outspoken Montreal Canadiens enforcer, a militant vegan and animal welfare activist, has landed himself at the epicentre of twin controversies involving actors who don't often find themselves on the same side of an argument: feminist groups and the NHL.

Earlier this year, Laraque was paid to appear in a jiggle ad for an alcohol-laced energy drink, donating the proceeds, he says, to an animal-rights charity.

It features the fan favourite playing road hockey with a bevy of buxom, revealingly-clad women.

Sports leagues generally discourage their players from open endorsements of alcohol - celebrity booze endorsements are expressly forbidden in many jurisdictions, although not in Quebec - and the NHL, which nevertheless accepts beer company sponsorships, is no different.

An article of the NHL's collective agreement states: "No player shall be involved in any endorsement or sponsorship of alcoholic beverages [excluding malt-based beverages such as beer] and/or tobacco products."

The league offered no comment on whether the cider-based caffeine beverage Laraque endorsed is covered by the ban, or what sanctions he might face.

But the difficulties don't end there.

The commercial, which has been circulating on the Internet for several weeks, has provoked the ire of several prominent women's groups, who charge that it perpetuates negative stereotypes and deals a blow to the notion of gender equality.

The president of Fédération des femmes du Québec, the province's pre-eminent women's group, denounced the ad as "one more example of sexist advertising" in an interview with The Canadian Press.

Laraque apologized to anyone who may have been offended, and insisted he wasn't aware of the spot's content until he showed up on set.

"People who know me know I'm not that kind of person," said Laraque, who offered to tape a public service announcement in support of women's rights.

Well, the Leafs FINALLY won a game last night. A hat trick for Hagman. 5 points for Kaberle. 4 points for Stempniak. A very solid game from Gustavsson. If that's the way he plays, he may be a legit #1 after all.

Now I have some hope they might actually win more than one.

After all???? he's played one other NHL game and only let in 2 goals in that one!! after all?? you make it seem like he has had 100 games to try to get to #1.
