Some random musings...
Are the Caps not one of the most fun and exciting teams to watch play in ages? Ovechkin has to be my favorite player in the world right now, the guy reminds of the Rocket in many ways, the passion, excitement and the will to always drive to the net and score goals. I love it. Watch this team if you can before the salary cap kills it, if i wasnt a Habs fan Id buy a Caps jersey tomorrow.

How many more games before Toskala loses his job to Gustavsson?
I say 3, he looks like shit, I hope they keep him in.
The Leafs better work on their PK, the way Komisarek keeps taking penalties.
I hope Price brings his A game to Calgary on tuesday, and we need to start generating some scoring chances and shoot more, we've been outshot like 80 to 40 in two games, that sucks. These mediocre displays wont work on a team like Calgary, then its Vancouver (and the slow starting Luongo) and Edmonton, not exactly a cake walk road trip.
The injuries are starting to pile up, Markov 4 months, O'Byrne 6 weeks, not sure about Metropolit, not that he's a huge loss but he does a good job on the PK, and works, and O'Byrne is actually starting to play like a real NHL defenceman for a change, tough luck for him. Maybe its good to get them out of the way now, losing Markov at the end of last season did us in pretty good.
Weber's been called up, I like this kid, I think he's got some good potential, lacks alot of size though, lets see what he's made of. Rumors are swirling that Montreal is looking at Marc-Andre Bergeron, why waste money on a guy nobody wants? Give someone else a chance, I dont see the point if for depth only. Someone even mentioned bringing Breeze-By back, I almost threw up when I heard that.
thats enough, ive had a headache all day and cant shake it....argggh, i dont get headaches very often so it sucks when it happens.

^ definitely, he's convinced Kessel is going to win the Rocket Richard trophy, even knowing that he won't be playing his first game until at least November. It's delusional nuts like him that give Leafs fans everywhere a bad name...

Well, it's early days yet.
But so far, the Habs lack of offence is, yeah, cause for concern.
early days yes, but you dont want to fall into bad habits and constantly have to play from behind, its not an easy way to go through a season, the system will come online soon enough i think.
im still hoping Gainey has a trick or two left, there's still something missing there, we really need a mobile puck moving defenceman and yeah thats a tall order in this market but who knows, and a larger sized skill player would really round out the top 6 nicely.
problem is Gainey doesnt have a lot to bargain with, Halak, Pleckanec, Kostitysn (both) maybe one of the young guns and prospects are moveable but without giving a large chunk of the future away, Im not sure what he can do.
of course it wouldnt surprise me if he did absolutely nothing either, unless injuries force his hand, he'll stand pat till the trade deadline and hope for the best is my guess.

Fun game last night between the Habs and Flames. I expected the boys in red to come out on top, and sure enough they did. It was nice to see Iginla and Jokinen finally get their heads out of their asses and contribute to the offence.

I just hope tonight isnt the night Luongo remembers how to play goalie, or it could be tough.
As per the Flames-Habs game, I wasnt expecting to win but we gave a great effort and it was a fun game to watch. I saw alot of good work in that game from the forwards and the d, its a positive step and good for the team confidence.
If we hadnt let up early in the second period we probably would have won. But Calgary is a good team and credit to them, time to move on.
I hope Price shuts the door for his family and friends tonight, he needs to keep his nerves in check.
