I agree, we need a big centre more than anything, but...
I wouldn't mind either Bertuzzi or Shanny at the right price, but that's the key right there, only if the price is right...personally I think Bertuzzi has more upside, and would probably sign for less than Shanny. Shanny is/was great and all, but I dunno, he's gettin' up there, Bertuzzi has alot more to offer IMO, and would bring some much needed size to this team...plus he's from Sudbury! It's been too long since we had a representitive on the team (since #49 Brain Savage), so ya, I'm all for Bertuzzi, not too sure about Shanny though.

Montreal just signed Travis Moen from the Ducks, he's a big guy and works hard, its a step in the right direction.
Now go get that big centre Bob!!

No big center yet, but signing Sandford and Plekanec might help pave the way for a deal with San Jose for Marleau...

Does anyone have a link to the remaining UFA's?
I don't really know what to make of the Rangers off-season moves. Although Gomez is a great player & i hated to see him go, there's no question his salary cap hit of $7+ mill was way too high. I hope he rebounds he puts up 30/80 for the Habs. I thought the Ales Kotalik signing was brutal, $3 million a year???
Marian Gaborik, well if he is healthy than i LOVE this signing it's a lot of money/term to give to a guy that has been so injury prone his entire career.
One guy i really don't understand why the Rangers appear to be letting go (he's still a UFA) is Blair Betts. He's a great faceoff man, one of the best penalty killers & shot blockers in the NHL, very responsible defensively, he also gives he both size & speed on the 4th line. I'm surprised he hasn't signed somewhere yet.
I like both our goaltending & defense for the upcoming season, but even with a healthy Gaborik, i'm not convinced the forwards will be able to supply enough offense, especially if they let Nikolai Zherdev walk as a RFA as most expect they will if he's rewarded a contract in the $4 million range through arbritration (he's seeking $4.25).

id take Frolov over either Kotstitsyn bro and latendresse any day, he's big and can score. I do like Gui though he's a solid 3rd liner who can chip in, id rather lose one of the tits instead.
montreal needs to dump hamrlik off on someone, hopefully to LA, Im hearing Montreal is looking at Smid from Edmonton as well, but they want Pleckanec, which is fine with me if we can get a big decent centreman for our second line.
GO BOB GO!!!
i havent been so anxious to get the season started in a long time, its going to be an interesting year whatever may come. Win or lose I love my team.......

Me too, I love how you were all pissed at first when it was just Gomez though, haha, oh well, at least it shows that you care.
I would like to see them trade both Kostitsyns for Frolov (Well, only one of them if we can get away with it, but honestly, fuck 'em, cut 'em loose) and w/e else we can get...although, ya, dumping Hamrlik would be better.
LK, do you post on Pro Sports Daily? There's some dude named tragically hip, that cheers for the habs and red sox, and everytime i see the posts i think, there's only one man, who could be so stupid, INSPECTOR CLOUSEAU! lol, j/k, is that you though?
You have a kindred spirit over there if not.
