Bob just redeemed himself with that move.

Good riddance.

I still think they should give Koivu one more year, if he wants to come back.

Nice work Ottawa...you losers.

Nothing like adding more guys to your roster that don't feel like playing on a regular basis.

Have fun!!

Oh...and Liz King...welcome to the Hal Gill show.

He is the WORST defenseman in the NHL. The Penguins won the Cup in spite of him. Words alone have a difficult time capturing just how much I hate Hal Gill...he's f*cking awful!!!

Also, I'm totally cool with the Leafs paying $4 Mil for Komisarek AND I think Grabovski is decently priced at $2.9. He's a pretty decent young goal scorer and I see him having a break out season. I think you're clouded by seeing them go to the Buds...I'd feel the same way seeing my team's players going to a rival.

And for the record I hope we keep Kaberle...it's not like we're going to be able to replace him with someone else for the pricetag of $4.5 mil...I'd consider him a topflight NHL offensive D Man.

with the beauchemin signing, id say kaberle is as good as gone once the right deal comes along.

if komisarek wanted out thats fine, he had the right..i still think bob did the right thing by waiting, if had tried to sign him up last year or early this year he would probably have overpaid him based on how good the team was doing at the time, but i know for sure he went to toronto for the $$, it was a surprise move, i really didnt see that playing out.

im not concerned about hal gill, he's just a big body and wont play tons of minutes, dime a dozen, he certainly wont make or break this team so im not worried about him.

i still think were weak on the back end, we need a top flight shutdown guy back there, Price is still young and needs protetction from his defence, he sure didnt get it last year and it killed us.

Hal Gill will do just fine in Montreal, he'll probably be on the 3rd line for D anyway, so it's not a big deal. I like what he brings to the table, in that he's a big strong physical replacement for Komisarek. Markov/Spacek, Hamrlik/Gorges, Gill/Mara, looks good to me, a helluva lot better than last year that's for sure.

Grabovski's a decent young player and he was one of the Leaf's better players last season, but remember the reason he's in Toronto to begin with was that he is horribly undisciplined. The Leafs are giving him 2.9 mil based on one decent season where he had a lot to prove. I'm not sure that would be my decision, if I were running the Leafs.

Leafs have landed the Monster.

"I don't really have any options, choices," said Kovalev,

Have fun, Sens fans!

Burke is really turning the Leafs into Team USA. Can't say I disagree with many of the changes he's making though. They've actually got what looks like a solid defence now, and if Toskala is healthy and/or the Monster is actually any good they should be fine in net. The lack of skilled forwards to play on the top two lines means they're still a long way from being serious contenders, but for the first time in a long time I think they're moving in the right direction.

Koivu is a duck. Sad

Congrats Joe on a great career including 8 OT goals, Gold in 2002 and being a class act all the way

Even though I've been a habs fan my whole life, I'd have to say the Smokin' Joe, and Stevie Y were my two favourite players growing up. Class act all the way, when he passed Borque the cup, he became the best captain of all time in my eyes. Congrats indeed, and best of luck with whatever is next!

Im sorry to see Koivu go, i hope he does well..at least he went to the west that makes it easier to take.

Classy Joe, what can you say? The guy was an amazing player, that goal he scored against the US for the gold had me going nuts, Ill never forget that moment.

Habs signed Paul Mara to a one year deal today. Gainey's just shoring up the defence a bit, I guess this means goodbye to Boullion, Brisebois and Dandenault.

Which is fine with me, especially Breeze-by, I never liked him.

Plus, we have Subban waiting in the wings to take Mara's spot.

Subban, I love his energy and enthusiasm, thats something this team needs, I hope he can make an impact this year. Sometimes his over-zealousness gets him in hot water, but that can be worked out. Webber seems like a decent prospect as well, he's got a good shot.

Rumor is that the Habs are looking at Shanny again for one year. We need a big forward and we still are weak down the middle, we need a big body centre or a power forward, Im hearing Bertuzzi rumors as well. Not sure if I like these moves, although Ive always liked Shanny.

Here's how were looking with the current roster, just a guess on the lines and Im sure Gainey has one or two moves left to make.

Gionta-Gomez-Cammaleri
S.Kostitsyn-Pleckanec-A.Kostitsyn
Latendresse-Lapierre-Moen
Laraque-Metropolit-Stewart

Pacioretty
D'Agostini
Chipchura
Pyatt
Maxwell

Markov-Spacek
Gorges-Hamrlik
Gill-Mara

O'Byrne
Subban
Webber

Price-Halak
