This is the first time since Bourque won the cup in Colorado that I've been happy to see a team win the cup. The last few years I've either been disappointed or indifferent.

all this fuss over crosby not shaking hands with some of the wings is really starting to piss me off :censored the wings have lost alot of the repect i had for them, sounds like sour grapes coming from the red side to me. the kid just captained his team to the cup and got caught up in the moment. too bad half the red wings couldn`t show more class and wait the extra minute and a half to shake his hand....whiners

Just a note about the non hand shake thing. BTW Yeah Pens!!! :jump
I was sent a youtube by a fellow Pens fan, and blogger on Pensburg site, that had the handshake from last year and then the one for this year on video.
For Wings victory: Hank Z was give 2 min 30 seconds before having to even get into the line to shake w/Pens, (showing the Pens Class, they stood there and waited)
The Wings gave Sid less than 1 min 20 seconds before they pouted and ran to dressing room, then crying about it, (showing no class for the Wings).
I can get the links if necessary, but somehow I really don't think it is.
By now it is so done.
Cheers,

Im so tired of all this handshake talk, time to move on, the Draft is coming and so is UFA season, lets talk trades and rumors, everyone loves rumors.
First though, I love how Burke is saying he wouldnt trade for Dany Heatley cause of the way he asked to be traded and leaked it to the media, funny it didnt stop him from poaching Pronger from Edmonton in the exact same circumstance, if it meant winning a Cup or adding a player he really wanted he'd trade for anyone, who's he trying to fool?
Draft is coming, Im sensing big moves are the offing, personally if Im Tampa Bay Im trading Lecavalier to COL for the 3rd pick overall and taking Hedman/Duchene 2 and 3 (or Tavares/Duchene) if Hedman goes no.1 to NYI. Which I dont see happening, Im sure NY will take Tavares first, they need a name to sell that team and push the Lighthouse project through.
Speaking of Vinny, as much as I'd love to see Vinny in a Habs uniform, his new contract is a killer and would make it hard to build a team around him, I wish Hab fans would stop pushing for it, its the the wrong move, even though he's exactely what we need down the middle. If it was me Id be making a huge pitch for Kovalchuk, I'd be surprised if he stays in Atlanta after this season, why not get ahead of everyone else and avoid overpaying at the draft? Assuming he wants out and Atlanta are willing to deal. Not sure if we have enough to give up for him anyway, same for Vinny..it always comes back to Markov and with Komisarek looking like he's going and J-Bo clearly going to a Western conference team, our defence would be left high and dry, I dont see it happening. Who's really out there as a UFA that could really make the difference?

Jay Bouwmeester signed with Calgary tonight..I wonder if Phaneuf is staying? Id keep him, thats a solid defence corps.
Looks like Dany Heatley is traded to the Oilers for Ladislav Smid, Andrew Cogliano and Dustin Penner.
and I wont mention the other deal cause im still paralyzed with rage.

I'm an Oilers fan living in Ottawa and I honestly think that the Heatley deal would be beneficial for both teams.
