The Habs schedule doesn't look too bad for the last few games, except 1 game against Boston ... that being said, they still have the opportunity to screw the pooch solidly this season. The season is still young!

They're two points out of 8th, and NY has Boston, Mtl and Philly (x2) to play...I wouldn't count them out yet. Moreover, I still wouldn't have traded J-Bo in hindsight.

I would have traded him for sure. If he really wanted to stay he would have accepted the fat contract he was offered, it would have been a no-brainer, he clearly intended to go to FA all along, so in my mind you have to get something for him. It will be worse for them to let him walk for nothing than it would be to make the playoffs this year. Lets face it they were a long shot to make it in no matter how they played. Make the big trade and try and strengthen in the off season for next year.

My guess is that ownership was really gunning for the extra revenue that a playoff birth would've generated...stupid move.

Schneider is no all-star anymore, but he really helped the power play and was fairly reliable in his own end, hell of alot more than that O'Byrne, guys need to step it up big time.

As a Pens fan and Malkin believer, I am more than a bit nervous right about now.
Seems Ovie scored 6 points yesterday, so he is only 2 pts below Geno. With 3 games left for Washington and Pens, the pressure is definitely on for the scoring title.
Also as a huge Recchi fan, nice to see him have a great game on Mar 28th. Could he get another ring like when the Pens sent him to Carolina a few years back 2006 he was on a Cup winner?
I am just really glad he is out of Tampa Bay. (Those cheese balls did not even tell Gary Roberts when he was on waivers, he had to learn it from his brother from the news). That organization does not deserve to make playoffs, but I do feel badly for some of the players left there.

Sucks ass that we lost two of our top D-men, but on the brightside (if there is one at all), at least it's Schneider that's done for the season, and not Markov, sure he'll be sorely missed, but we'd be really screwed if Markov was done for the season instead...good thing they didn't trade Dandenault.

Crosby threw one punch in that "fight" and it missed, boy did he teach Ballard a lesson. Hey good for him for sticking up, but big deal, players do that all the time. So Im not sure how that little act of bravery is supposed to endear him to his detractors?

Just for the record I like Crosby the kid has tons of hockey sense and talent, Id take him on my team in a heartbeat. But I dont hero worship the guy, there's something about him not sure how to explain it, maybe in time he'll win me over, if he puts in a hero's performance in Van10 and we win gold that would do it. Right now I just dont look at him like I did Mario and the like or today like Ovechkin and Iginla.
On a more sour note the Habs blew it big time last nite, we had that game in hand, and gave it away. Ill give Heatley that first goal, but Janik blew it on the second one and it cost us. Still in it but I just wish we could avoid Boston or Jersey in round one although the Caps would probably hand it to us anyways, despite being weak in net so I guess it wont really matter unless Price pulls a Roy 93. Come to think of it I would prefer Boston, sure they are the beasts of the east, but with a MTL-BOS series you never know.
And if they dont make it, at least I got the Red Sox to fall back on, if the weather would just piss off.
