First listen highlights for me:
Queen of the Furrows - Baker's unbelievable guitar solo left my jaw dropped. Arguably his best work in the studio...
Country Day - LOVE the lyrics.
Frozen in My Tracks - This song stood out the most for me in the first listen. I had chills through the haunting backup vocals. This rocker rivals The Heart of The Melt and The Drop-off...

I'm hooked on "we are the same". I went to the show @ Silver City (Ancaster) last night and I loved it. I have now listened to the CD twice. Today I'm hooked on:
Now the struggle has a name, The depression Suite (especially part 2 & 3), Coffee Girl, The Last Recluse, Morning Moon, Love is a first. This could all change by the weekend. Can't stop singing part 3 of Depression Suite
"Don't you wanna see how it ends? When the door is just starting to open?"
Anybody have any guitar tabs/chords for any songs from this album ?
"When I'm wild and lonely, in a winter mind and I cannot become -
Wild and loyal in a winter mind - what I want to become"

I bought the vinyl but haven't downloaded the MP3s yet, has anyone noticed a difference in quality between the leaked version and the official version?

There was even a noticeable difference between the 160kbps leak and the version I bought on iTunes. Whoever ripped that did a piss-poor job, but hey, I guess I can't complain too much. Glad to have a higher fidelity version now though!

Yes, even after I re-ripped to a higher bitrate MP3 it was much better.

I liked it upon first listen, wasn't in love with it. Then as I listened to it a few more times, I began to really like it, now I'm at the point where I would say that I love it. The songs are really resonating with me. It is different, but it is really good. Too bad Skeleton Park was left off though, I think it would have been the best song on the album.

This album just keeps getting better and better. Im slowly adjusting to the songs I was unsure of the first couple times around. Frozen in my Tracks is really growing on me. I didnt like it at first but now it sounds great. I dont know about anyone else but my gf said that Love is a First sounded really good following up Escape is at Hand. What do you guys think? Depression Suite and QOTF have already racked up 15 listens on my computers iTunes, im scared to plug in my iPod hahaha.

I've listened to it about six times now...the entire album feels like it were written in a board room, a roundtable of producers, mixologists, and maestros. The fact that that's not the case is why this album is incredible. There's some awkward parts, but it's ambitious and for the 4 or 5 songs that may eventually be removed from playlists in the future, there will be as many classics. It means these guys are never going to peak, they're recession-proof.

Ugh, I just don't know...
After three spins I don't really think there's anything wrong with most of the songs really, though I only really love "Coffee Girl".
I'm not averse to musical change. I'm glad they went from a good bar band to what we heard on Day for Night and Fully Completely and Phantom Power, but this isn't progression. It's merely change which sounds like what Manic Street Preachers and other alt rock bands in Britain did THIRTEEN YEARS AGO, not really progression.
Also, why Bob Rock? All his sh-t is way too poppy and glossy.
I'm disappointed. I can see it growing on me, but I'm still a bit let down.
