Although I am not a Ranger fan, it was really cool seeing the "Straka to Jagr" plays that some ended up with beautiful goals.

Those two are fun to watch when they are in sync. The playoffs are gonna be amazing.

This is the first year in a while that I am so psyched to watch many of the match ups, it will be a challenge for my remote to keep up with programming...Yeah hockey package!

I'm not completely sure about this but I am pretty confident that Luongo isn't too upset about the Canucks missing out on the playoffs. Now he can go to Florida to be with his wife and newborn baby.

He was really upset. I think all the emotions from what's been a difficult last few months caught up with him. I feel dirty saying this, but Yes! Thank you Edmonton! Just like last year, Calgary has backed themselves into a playoff spot due to their tendancy to crap the bed in big games. We're most likely going to be eaten alive in the first round by Detroit or San Jose, but at least I get to watch my team play for another week or so. Of course if they beat the 'Nucks tomorrow night, they still have a chance of finishing 6th. Please god, give us Minnesota!

The Flames are 6-2 against Minny this year, so I'd prefer they play the Wild. I think they only beat Detroit once this year. Anyways, I didn't realize that Nashville has played all their games, so it looks like they're the ones who will be stuck with Detroit.

The Canucks need scoring in a bad way. They don't even have one guy on their entire roster who can be considered a legitimate scoring threat. The Canucks also have to open it up a bit more instead of this horrible, unwatchable defensive oriented hockey they try to play now. I blame Vigneault for that style. I know he won the Jack Adams last season but maybe the doubters were correct in that Luongo was the main reason that Alain V looked so good. :rambo: Of course, better offensive players would probably make up for V's defensive style, just as Gaborik still manages to score over 40 for the defensive minded Wild.

Don't look now but Jagr has kind of been on a tear recently. Jagr has a horrible year by his standards and still manages to score 70 points. Heck, he almost has as many points as the Sedin sisters this season.

You are absolutely right. Coming off that bs about leaving next season, and the evil press in NY, Jagr still looks like he did a few years back. He manages the pressure of NY pretty well, I remember them booing him mercilessly in beginning of season, and how he is not a "locker room" , leader and the troubles with Shanny etc. Hope he carries this momentum into the playoffs.

Did you hear the CBC announcers tonight? They said that at times you can beat Raycroft glove side, because it's his weak side... Really though, you can just beat Raycroft anywhere.

Somebody should have told the CBC and its announcers that the Leafs have missed the playoffs again... for the third straight year! Stop talking about them like they are the best thing since sliced bread.

Ovechkin's got the Rocket Richard, the Art Ross, and it will be a complete travesty if he doesn't get the Pearson and Hart. What a season. What a player! What a great night for hockey in Washington! I enjoyed watching the game immensely. I couldn't force myself to get anywhere near the HNIC drivel of a game but the Caps/Panthers game was great! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! That's nine wins in a row for Huet!

K, I take some of it back. Towards the end, when McCabe was stupid enough to slash Stewart, Bob Cole called McCabe out for being an idiot and remarking that "his season is over".

Hand it to Stewart, he stood up for himself and had an awesome game.

The Caps made some great moves at the deadline, Huet has basically given the team a chance to win every night, and while Fedorov hasn't scored a great deal, he's still been a really good fit. You have to feel for the Hurricanes a bit though, they were in the top 8 virtually all season, falling out only after game 82. They played pretty good down the stretch, but ultimately i think the injuries up front caught up to them...the teams heart & soul in Rod Brind'Amour, and also Justin Williams, Ray Whitney & Matt Cullen.

Although i think Evgeni Malkin also deserves consideration for the Hart, i think the Caps making the playoffs is the icing on the cake for Ovechkin. Now the Caps have to wait & see who they play, either Ottawa or Philadelphia.

Screw the Hurricanes! I don't feel for them one bit! :rambo: Don't use Brind'amour as an excuse. The team did perfectly fine without him in the lineup. After he went out, the Canes couldn't lose for quite a while. The Caps had to play most of the season with Kolzig and Johnson in net and STILL made the playoffs. That's quite remarkable when you think about it.

Malkin deserves a lot of consideration for sure. Malkin might even be the best player on Pittsburgh. However, he falls short of Ovechkin this season.
