Great video!
Is that the singer from the Bare Naked Ladies standing over the guy that got hit by the car?

Watching the video again, I'd say a shorter video seems obvious. If you take the breaks out, the video would work fine, except:
a) It would be a little less obvious after the second break that the phone outside didn't work. You could always recut the phone montage so that you see him trying three different phones in three seconds.
and
b) The video would have to be recut by about a second when Gord gets back up from off his back. The music starts just the slightest touch too soon, so you can tell Gord has been laying down.
Cheers,
John

I found the video very interesting and something really different to what they've done. Cutting to Pretend was unique but like others, I found it did ruin the flow of the song. I agree with Sean about the use of black and white in the shoot. The video was successful in explaining the story behind the song a bit more obviously and I enjoyed the irony of it like one of the first posters said.

I like it because it's has elements in it that are not just a video...it's more of an "art piece" (?) but, ummmm need I say it..??

Maybe we should make it so that when people search "Tragically Hip In View" on youtube, the video comes up? Or does it just not work for me?

I already PM'd MAv about that. He has no tags on the piece, so the only way to make it come up is if you type TheTragicallyHip, just so.

I liked it. I like the black and white form too. But, (as my wife points out, just watch the damn show), he calls the girl in the DAYTIME and She's in NIGHTIME. Is he supose to be in NY too or across the pond? Just sayin

I like it a lot -- only thing I don't really enjoy is towards the end, just when "In View" is set to peak, it cuts to Gord strumming the guitar.
Great performance by Gord -- he certainly looks very comfortable in front of the camera.

Great Vid, Gord looked really natural doing some acting. Well done, didn't like the breaks, but it is a video that you want to know what is going to happen next so you kinda stop noticing the breaks.
