Official Unofficial Cleveland Thread

a quick heads up for any buffalonians heading down.

Go to Wild Wings to watch yanks/redsox at 1 followed by Bills/Raiders at 4:30 and then walk right next door to the odeon for the hip show! That sounds like a great time!!

Thanx Mike, I will be at the bar for the Bills game. I am a Yankee fan but it is football season now !!! No need for baseball until the playoffs start. The wings at that bar are nothing to write home about so I recommend a sandwich or something else. If you want wings you might as well go to Hooters across the street. See you there !!!

Most Wild Wings also have bubble hockey! That alone makes it worth having a few beers in. :jump

Just a bit...the Flats is a virtual dead zone now, much of it has closed up.
A lowly Cleveland suggestion for a meeting place if you all like is the
Rock Bottom Brewery on the West Side of the river...it is in an old powerhouse..good food and good brew and right on the river really the only spot on the river with any life left..there is a Shooter's right next door. On the East Bank is still BW's I think it is Buffalo Wild Wings or something, about two seconds from the Odeon, but Hooters and everything else is closed up. What a difference two years make.
Sorry I have to work Sat night and most of Sunday or I would love to meet you all myself...hell I would have you all stay at my house, tons of room and fifteen minutes from downtown....sorry a little Hip excitement and beer. Back to my C-town corner now. See alittle blonde ready to fall over from lack of sleep and Hip excitement at the show say hi Smile

Thanks for the tips ajjay.

Well, I'm about to book a room at the Days Inn by the airport. I figure experimenting with the transit 'n cabbies is all part of the experience. I'm headin out Saturday morning, so if anyone comes up with any set plans on where they'll be going on Saturday night or what they'll be up to before the concert, please post it here!

ajjay is correct, the Flats are dead (even more so on a sunday night). BW3 is next to the club, that's your best bet before the show. Another place that's not far from there (walking distance) is The Flat Iron Cafe. a little more mellow but they have great food. If you will be in town on Saturday night the place to go is the warehouse district on W6th Street (Liquid, Fusion, Blind Pig etc.). Another place to go would be the Tremont area. Tremont is about a $5-$10 cab ride from downtown and has a bunch of neighborhood type bars and restaurants. If a dive bar is your place try Major Hoopples on Columbus Rd. Cheap beer and THE best view of the city from a bar stool. I'll add more as I think of them.

Don't know if anyone noticed, but the Browns also have a 4:15 game on Sunday, which most likely means it will be very difficult to find a TV with the Bills game on in Cleveland before the Hip show. BWW might be a good choice, but has anyone ever heard of the the Hunt Club, a sports bar at 1700 E. 12th street?

BW3 has a ton of TV's, so I don't think you'lll have any problem watching the Bills game. Also, remember that they'll be a total of about 5 Clevelander's in the bar, everyone else will be from Buffalo, Detroit, and Canada.

I don't think the Hunt Club is open anymore.

Does anyone know if BW3 has direct Tv ? I know they have a lot of TY's but if they are all on the Browns game I will be Upset. Any info would be helpful. Thank You
