That was painful to watch, thankfully he's ok though & didn't require surgery. He might even be in the lineup tomorrow afternoon!

well, it would've been nice to wrap it up in regulation, but I can't complain about anything...we got the calls, we got the goal, we're up 2-0.

it was nice to see Kovalev atone for the stupid stupid penalty he took at the end...

still, they're gonna have to play better than that if they want to win tomorrow, because Boston's definately giong to throw everything they've got at them to keep them from building a 3-0 series lead.

It has to be said: Don Cherry sure can be an idiot at times.

Ya, but he's the best, ya gotta love 'em, even if he is anti-hab ...i can't say i blame him, given his past history with the bruins and habs and the stanley cup playoffs...

IMO, the high stick in question wasn't a penalty, because the Bruin was crouched over, and the stick didn't come above the Montreal player's shoulders...BUT, i would've been pissed if it was the other way around...still though, i think it was the right (non)call.

When will he come to grips that he doesn't coach Boston anymore!?! We get it, you lost to Montreal in the past, so you gotta talk about them like they are the worse thing to happen to the NHL since Gary Bettman.

Whenever this guy talks about the Habs, you just gotta tune out, because he's biased, he's bitter, he hates French Canadians, and he is an idiot.

p.s. when is he gonna forget about Kovalev's dive in '95?!

That was a horrible penalty for Kovalev to take, but i gotta give him credit, he bounced back & won it for the Habs. Remember a couple of years ago when he was slashed in OT, left the puck & basicallly stopped skating, and the other team (Bruins?) went up the ice & scored. He was definitely the goat for a couple days that time, but then he came back & was a dominant player the rest of the playoffs.

Dallas has dominanted the Ducks through the first two games of that series. The Ducks continue to take bad penalties, espeically Todd Bertuzzi. He took 2 horrible ones in the 3rd period last night, in particular on Steve Ott after Ott's hit on Teemu Selanne. Dallas' PP has been on fire, so if the Ducks are to come back in this series, they're have to find a way to stay out of the box.
The Ducks much herarlded defense corps has struggled, JS Giguere has been badly outplayed by Marty Turco, and the Stars top players (Riberio, Richards, Morrow, Modano, Lehtinen) have been better than the Ducks top players. Teemu Selanne was really the only noticable player on the Ducks last night. The Stars look quicker and hungrier.

It was a stupid penalty, but what was even stupider was the fact that the other guy didn't get at least a tripping/interference/roughing penalty, there's no way the ref only makes a call on Kovalev for a love tap when they're already down a man, especially in the playoffs. Kovalev was tripped, then held down and then hit in the back of the head and it was all missed by the refs... oh well they still got the win

it was against Boston, not sure what he's thinking sometimes..he's one of those guys who whenever someone takes a shot at him he always reacts, usually in a dumb way. thankfully its not that often. but im sure he's been forgiven by the rest of the team after that wicked OT goal..

GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!

haha gotta love Anaheim getting spanked by Dallas again, Im rootin for the Stars on this one..go Dallas!

Yeah, that was the thing about the Kovalev penalty, the thing that Don Cherry of course failed to mention: the Boston player first knocks him down, fair enough, but then he finds that he somehow has to fall on him, and he's having oh-so-much trouble getting up, just can't find his feet and then the shot to the head. Personally, if I was the ref, I'd call lying "accidentally" falling on a player and then lying on him for a while interference. And if I chose not to call it, I'd ignore the little slash that followed.

But the refs make the decisions the refs make, so there you go.

I am a little surprised that CBC in their writeup of the game managed to suggest the Reich trip was a bad call not once, but twice. It looked pretty obvious to me.

That's the story of Todd Bertuzzi's playoff career - he's simply too selfish of a player to keep his emotions in check, and all he does is put his team at a disadvantage. In 02/03 he had 60 PIMS in 14 games. The year before that he had 14 PIMs in 6 games. Hell, even last year with Detroit when he was barely taking a regular shift, he managed 15 PIMs in 16 games.

You'd think that Burke would have known better...

As for you Habs fans, whining about the CBC, whining about the officiating, and whining about Don Cherry? Man, you'd think your team was down 2-0.
