damn you got me looking at those price options again! theres no getting around this being a $5000.00 trip when all is said and done! however this does co-ordinate with my April 21st wedding.hmmmm?

I've found packages from Washington, DC (They are playing the 9:30 Club on the Sunday) where you leave April 30th and return May 3rd for $900 Cdn including hotel and flight. Hotel is the Marriot on Seven Mile Beach I think. I also found flights from Toronto for $411 Cdn return + the hotel costs.
I think the set would be pretty standard but it would be the cool factor of being there.
It really depends what you want to get out of a trip like that ... do you want a vacation that includes the Hip or the Hip that includes a vacation ... :-)

If anyone is serious about coming down here for the Tragically Hip show on May 1, tickets go on sale Monday (April 2) at 10am local time / 11am eastern time by calling 345-943-1367. They'll accept credit cards and hold the tix at will-call for you. The hype level about this show is huge here!

The Tragically DIP - very clever, I like that.
And air guitar championships are a big deal. The 2007 U.S. Air Guitar Championships are in DC at the 930 Club in June.

That is SO cool!!! I wonder why bars/hotels don't do that in Canada? I'm going to try to get something on the go for the Hip show here in Saint John in Sept. - too bad it's a Wednesday.

Update from the Cayman Islands! The band arrived today to a few dozen Canadian flags waving at Owen Roberts Airport in Grand Cayman. A number of fans greeted the band and got pictures and autographs and the boys were totally cool with it all.
The stage is complete and looks fantastic. And to add another Canadian touch, the Cayman Islands National Ball Hockey Team which will compete in the World Championships in Germany will be selling their jerseys at the concert for fundraising.
This will be an extremely cool concert. The local radio station 96.5 CayRock has been speculating on the air about what cover song they will choose here. Consensus seems to be a Bob Marley cover. They stream at <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.cayrock.ky">www.cayrock.ky</a><!-- w -->. Tomorrow they are promoting several hours of all-Hip music throughout the day.
