I just noticed on their myspace page that there is a show in London at Call The Office, which I am so stoked for!! Call the Office is tiny, that should be awesome! only problem is thats my office's christmas party, so i may have to leave the party a little early, oh well, haha

only issue im having is finding where the tickets are on sale, it says check out ticketmaster, but I can't see anything on there, I guess I could go to the record store its also being sold at,

anyone have any thoughts?

Looks like that show isn't being sold through ticketmaster, instead it's <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://ticketscene.ca/">http://ticketscene.ca/</a><!-- m -->

8 hours til showtime! Anybody else from Calgary going to tonight's gig at Mac Hall?

Brilliant show tonight! Although, security was a bit much. Tonight was the first time I've ever been padded down before a show at Mac Hall. It was a little bizarre. Anyways, the band kicked ass as usual. The new songs sound amazing live, and the old stuff was fantastic as well. They did a really cool extended outro to "Pamphleteer" which made me love the song even more, and both "One Great City" and "Left & Leaving" featured some great crowd sing-a-longs.

As far as I know they've never been the standard setlist type. They're known to mix it up from night to night.

I can't complain, though, as they hit pretty much all of the bases I wanted covered. Good musicianship, great venue, great setlist, but the band was a little lacking in personality. John could take lessons in charisma from the girl who fronted the opening band! That's not to say that I didn't enjoy myself, it just would have more fun if they'd been chattier or moved around more while playing or something.

Yeah that's pretty similar to the Calgary show, I was just curious because I'm debating about whether to go both nights in Toronto or just one. As for John not being very talkative, from my experience he's usually like that. The only exception was the Hamilton show earlier this year, he was in a great mood that night and was very chatty between songs, especially in introducing the new songs and some of the stories behind them.

How much do I feel like a tool for not yet having purchased Reunion Tour, you may ask?

It looks like I'dll be making a trip to ye olde record shoppe sometime between now and Friday.

I can't believe I forgot to post about the show! I guess that's what copious amounts of malibu and coke during the show will do to one's memory. :?

The venue was a nifty little place; Esthete and I snagged some seats at the bar. We focus on the March Madness unfolding on the tv while the opening acts played. The Weakerthans took the stage around, oh, I'd say 11:30?

I heard everything I wanted to hear; which so rarely happens at any concert!

As far as the new album goes, I'm really digging it. However, the cat lover in me will not let me listen to Virtue... without crying. There is something so strikingly sad about the entire song. *sniffle* The standouts for me, so far are; Civil Twilight, Tournament of Hearts, Bigfoot!, Night Windows and Sun in an Empty Room. As for Virtue, well, as previously stated, beautiful, but just too damn sad.
