Bryan Adams...some people on here might not care for his music, but there is no denying he's a great ambassador for our country. Not only through his music, but the fact that he's always the first person to sign up for things like Live Aid, Live 8, Canada for Asia, and countless other benefits throughout the world. He wrote "tears are not enough", etc. etc. He's often the first performer to stage concerts in many different countries around the world, many of which most artists of his stature wouldn't even dare play. He's helped raise a tonne of money for breast cancer through such projects as his 3 photography books "Made in Canada", "American Woman, and "Haven".

That's true. Steve Nash lives in Arizona and I mentioned him. :oops:

Eugene Levy is a star and he still lives in Canada though. Good for him.

but surely it'd be impossible for steve nash to play for the team he plays for while living in canada. there's a difference, no?
not sure why bryan adams lives in engerland but i have to believe as a rock star/photographer or whatever he's doing these days he's got lots more choice on where he's gonna live than an athlete who has to play 40-some-odd games in a certain city and practice there almost every day.

I didn't see anyone say Canadian radio (ie 102.1 the edge)..without it I'd never know who the Hip was.......and having it filter over the border a lot of Canadians bands I would have never heard of or seen...... so thanks to that.

I know it annoys some people on here, but I think 102.1 The Edge is pretty cool. I occasionally listen to it over the internet. It's nice to hear some different (i.e. good - Not Nickleback) Canadian music getting an airing. It's just a shame that the radio stations over here don't recognise it. There's some good series on there as well! :thumb:

Artists and athletes are fine and all, some of them (like Steve Nash), are outstanding human beings, but we shouldn't forget all those brave individuals who stood up for themselves and what they believe in.

Good point but I could do without medicare. Douglas' heart was probably in the right place though.

Nash certainly isn't a hero by any stretch of the imagination. I think if I had to choose someone to be proud of, it would be the brillilant WW1 and WW2 veterans who put their lives on the line and represented Canada with pride.
