Hmmmmmmm, most current rumor;

To Anaheim - Sundin, Stajan, 2nd round pick in 2009

To Toronto - Bobby Ryan, Edmonton's 1st rounder and Brenden Mikkelson

Don't know much about Mikkelson.......be me likey the rest!!

I hate to see Sundin in another jersey, but we gotta make this trade..........2 top 5 picks this draft and Ryan........pretty nice start to a rebuild

I honestly don't see the Ducks giving up that much...that Edmonton 1st rounder could end up being the #1 pick/Steven Stamkos, and Bobby Ryan was a #2 overall pick.

When did members of the media start pronouncing the 't' in Huet?

When Huet told them how to correctly pronounce his name.

thats a bad deal for Anaheim..... be me no likey it!!?

Apparently Sundin made a list of teams he'll play for:

I guess it depends if Anaheim made the list, rumor is Mats wants to stay in Canada, moreso in the East. I think he'd consider the Ducks, since they are legit contenders again, why not?

Imagine a world before the "beginning was the word.”

From what I understand (granted its all rumours and hearsay), Anaheim is asking for another player (Stajan) knowing full well Sundin will re-sign back with the Leafs in the summer.

I wouldn't mind throwing another player in (say Antro or Poni) if it would seal the deal.....

A big leap of faith on Burke's part (and definitely not his character), but having Sundin on the team would make them a great cup contender. And I will gladly cheer them on to see Sundin raise a cup. God nows it ain't gonna happen for him on Toronto any time soon......

Anaheim would be stupid to give up that much for a 2 month rental of Sundin. Burke knows better than to do that. He managed to fleece the Oilers of their pick by probably hyping up DPenner and then saying sayonara.

Bingo.

Seems to me it's Burke who keeps saying the trade deadline is the most overhyped day in the hockey calendar. I don't see him going for a rental on Sundin.

This rumour comes from the fevered imagination of a Leafs fan.

Like I said, I would have no problem throwing in another player if it seals the deal. This would be a perfect start to a rebuild, and right now every player on the Leafs is expendable.

One part of me wonders if Burke is thinking, gee I could become GM of the leafs next season, this would be a good start for me if I made this trade.............ya I know, wishful thinking that was the case.........

now that I could understand. He gets Ryan and Stamkos, Sundin comes back, Burke is the greatest Leaf GM in history.

If this is what he's thinking, he's an evil genius (that would make Descartes blush). But I don't think it's going to happen.

He didn't "hype" Penner one bit. The Oilers signed Penner to a ridiculously stupid contract ($21.25 million over 5 years), which Burke openly criticized (and he gladly took the first, second and third-round draft picks that come as compensation when you lose an RFA).

Whatever happened, Anaheim will be happy with the picks. I don't get most of the west coast stuff out here.

I guess all the credit would go to Kevin Lowe and the Oilers management for that one.

And the Calgary Flames roller coaster ride continues. A week ago they were playing their worst hockey of the season and getting spanked by basement dwellers like L.A. and Edmonton, and now this week they're riding a 3 game winning streak and grinding out hard-fought wins against Dallas and Detroit. This bizarre split personality disorder the Flames have this year is absolutely baffling.
