Thats great news as far as Im concerned, Julien just wasn't getting it done and I think this is a good move. Hopefully this will breathe some life into the team, we need help. I still think a trade is in order. Looks like Luongo rejected the $30mil offer from Florida, Id take him over Theo anyday. I keep hearing Vancouver is going to try to get him...stay tuned on that one.

I was surprised to hear Julien was fired. But, looking at the standings, I'm surprised to see the habs out of a playoff spot. I guess they needed a change.

Who is the next NHL coach fired? It looks to me like St. Louis should be a lot better than they are. Maybe Mike Kitchen will get the boot to shake things up in St. L.

Id have to say Sullivan in Boston will get the axe next, but in the NHL who really knows?

Wow, did Montreal respond! After letting in the first goal, they had 6 second period goals against the Sharks! Its 6-1 right now.

Calgary 4, Minnesota 1. As expected, the Flames came out and put in a much better effort tonight after Sutter called them out for their shitty play against the Islanders. Kipper was solid as usual, Iggy is starting to look like a force again, and our defence was much stronger than they were in the last two games. I'm hoping this is the start of another winning streak.

Oh, and I'd like to thank the Ottawa Senators for beating the Greasers tonight. As a Flames fan I couldn't be happier with the results!

Man that Eric Staal is something else, 3 goals and an assist tonight, this kid is a superstar, 29 goals and 30 assists so far, he will easily break 100 points this year if he stays healthy. And I have to say it again this kid should be playing in Torino.

for sure, he was even the first star in a game of nhl 2005 i played tonight Smile.

Another big win for the Habs tonight against Dallas, Ribeiro scored a pair, Bonk got an assist, and it's nice to see the two of them contributing after experiencing slumps. Theodore was back to his oldself tonight, i wonder if seeing Huet play well motivated him...also, I'd like to add that ithink Theodore should be on the team as well, as a backup.

he should definately be in Torino. I just don't understand Wayne's logic of saying he's too young and inexperienced to make the team. Who cares, the guy is lighting it up this year. I'd rather have him than some super experienced guy that can't make plays for you.

great win by the sabres last night. Edmonton is a pretty quick team but not as fast as the sabres and it showed. There is absolutely no reason why Ryan Miller should be held out of Olympic action this year. Here is far and away better than Dipietro, Esche, and Grahme.

I've been really impressed with the Sabres this year. They're a solid team. Nothing makes me happier than seeing the Oilers lose, so I'd like to thank Buffalo for doing the Flames a favor last night. Nice work! They'll have a tougher game in Calgary on Saturday. The Flames are a quick team as well, but they play a more physical/defensive style than Edmonton. And unlike the Oilers, we actually have a goaltender. May the best team win!

I was at the Flames/Leafs game a couple weeks ago and the best word I can use to describe the Flames is "relentless". Talk about a team that doesn't take a shift off. Wow. I don't know how he does it but Sutter certainly pushes the right buttons to get those guys motivated to work their asses off.

But man, what gives with Iginla?!? At his current pace he'll get a whopping 64 points this season. To put that into perspective, Jagr already has 69 points. Considering what Iggy is getting paid, he's simply got to put up better numbers than that. Sure, he's lost Conroy and hasn't gelled as well with Langkow, but look at Ovechkin. Who does he have getting him the puck? No one.

Ovechkin is the man by the way. That goal against Phoenix was simply unreal.

Lastly, anyone else get burned by Palffy quitting? I have (had) him in my keeper pool. Things must be fun in Pittsburgh. Rather than collect the $11 million he was still owed by Mario and play with some pain, he'd prefer to go home. Wow.

I don't get to view much hockey here, but that could be the most spectacular goal i think i've ever witnessed....

Great game by the Flames tonight. Their forechecking gave the Habs fits the entire game, and Iggy was a monster out there tonight. 2 goals, an assist, and he came very close to getting the hat trick near the end of the 3rd. I love it!

this sabres nucks game could be the most boring game i've seen all year, and most games have been pretty friggin boring
