"Baseball and w/e-else TDC wants to talk about"

the Yankees have lost 3 straight now, and only managed to score 1 run last night...oh well, still 158 games left to play...they struggled all season long almost last year, then turned it up a notch towards the end and still managed to win the division, i'd rather them hae the division already wrapped up come this September though.

Forget what I said about the bullpen as a whole. Tallet came in and pitched very well for 2 2/3 innings. Even Schoeneweis looked pretty good in the 9th. Let's see what happens this year.

Go Tribe. 5 wins 1 loss. I guess it's an understatement to say Hafner is swinging a hot bat. :thumb:

Go Tribe is right - just got back home from the weekend set - a damn cold weekend for baseball but well worth it to see a sweep of the much hated Twins!

Well, Bronson Arroyo went yard AGAIN yesterday, giving him 2 HR in 2 starts for his new club, the Cincinnati Reds. His second bomb was hit off the same team & same pitcher (Cubs, Glendon Rusch) as his first. How wacky is that?

In the early-going, it's looking like the Reds got the better end of this B. Arroyo-for-W.M. Peña deal.....

Arroyo
2W-0L, 1.98 ERA, 13.2 IP, 11 K, 0 BB
Batting: 2 HR, .500 AVG

Peña
5 AB, .200 AVG., 0 HR, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 3 K, 0 BB

The Reds are 5-2....a great start (for once).

Just read that Wily Mo actually assited Blue Jays' Frank Catalanotto with a HR, allowing his fly ball to pop out of his glove and over the RF fence.

Smile Big Grin

This is precisely why I was ecstatic when Boston took him off our hands in exchange for Arroyo, who will in essence be our #1 starter...sorry Jenna honey...but your BoSox probably got hosed....

It's early yet. I...yeah. We got hosed. I keep trying to find a the bright side of this little deal, but the photo posted above is making it difficult. Typical; slap a Sox uni on 'em and watch the mistakes come rolling. *sigh* Though, I'm looking forward to seeing how Wells will do tonight. Smile

It is early...

That said, his fielding blunders are definitely not the result of slapping a BoSox uni on him. He might be the worst fielder I've ever seen. Seriously. And don't count on it improving. If you struggle to catch fly balls at age 24, you always will.

The Sox know that - they got him for his bat....

nice to see the Yankees getting warmed up and headed in the right direction...Cairo had a great game against KC @ second base, and he could prove to be very valuable to the team down the stretch...

Looks like the real TIgers have finally shown up..and I can breath easy over our 100 loss Season.

Hey at least if Shelton can keep this up for 162 we could snag an MVP to go with the losses

You really don't think your Tigers can win 55 more games out of 147? Now that's some "glass almost empty" thinking...

Not a chance if the team isn't in contention...

Kudos to Julio Franco, who at 47 became the oldest player in major league history to hit a home run when he hit one out of the park last night.

for sure, that is incredible...

so the Yankees are playing .500 ball right now, i won't worry because it's so early, and they're still playing better than they were at this point of the season last year...

nice to see them split the series with the Jays, but scary to see Randy Johnson get raped like that...

Nice comeback by the Jays last nite, Im not a Jays fan but it was a good game to watch. I thought after Manny's second homer it was signed and sealed.

Baseball isn't my favorite sport but its starting to grow on me again, Im really enjoying the games Ive seen so far this year, its been very entertaining and thats good to see. I was a big ball fan in the early-mid 90's. After the lockout and all the roid and drug issues I started to lose interest, but it seems to be making a great comeback as of late. Its about time they cleaned up the game imo.

Lets play ball!!

Imagine a world before the "beginning was the word.”
