Band names made up by people trying to make up band names always suck.

The best band names are borrowed. From things people read, from clichés, from common phrases, from newspaper headlines, and so on. They represent some kind of idea. The ideas get stashed away in a notebook somewhere, and when it's time to come up with a name you have a pool of good names to draw from, and you're not reduced to going through a dictionary.

The only name on your new list that isn't utterly lame is Divine Intervention.

my favourites have been Excessive Darkness and Devine Intervention, and Devine Darkness, and Inner Turmoil.

I especially like this one, Inner Turmoil, because the four of us have an Inner Turmoil of some sort.

My one friend's turmoil is being teased his whole life and not finishing high school because of it.

My other friend's turmoil is having a dad that never listens(I've witnessed it), he doesn't take into consideration what my friend is saying he makes up his mind before hearing everything.

My turmoil is I was inches away from abducting someone but at the last minute made the right choice and ran to my car(by myself) and got out of there as quickly as possible and went home and spent the whole afternoon thinking about how I nearly messed up my life. I've had to live with that ever since.

My other friend just hates his overprotective mom.

Id like to know what you meant by "abducting someone", because that sounds really bad.

Among the names generated by that band name generator:
Inane Harmony
Atlantic of the Under-Paid
Gaseous Reindeer and the Heavenly Master
Person Rhythm
Broccoli of the Scraping Velocity
Bloated Irony
Worthless Apparition
Enraged Failure (calling to mind Dame calling Mike Duffy a "pseudo-journalist)

I'm thinking that my earlier comments about how not to come up with band names have held up.... Smile

Abduct someone??? Jeezus!!!

Go find your bottle of Lithium and take as many as you can physically put in your mouth to make up for the months of neglecting your meds.

BTW, an overprotective mom is hardly inner turmoil...

I was at a park in my home town of Sarnia, looking for friends at a park, and I had unfortunately previously seen the horrors of Child Porn Cry and that got me wondering why someone would do such a thing and when I think like that it makes me curious, sometimes curious enough to try. I was right beside a girl about 11 or 12, my right arm was reaching for her, as soon as I noticed that I restrained my and got my ass out of there right away and went home. I stayed in my room for two days staright except to go to the bathroom. After that it was obvious I needed help so I got therapy. And I haven't tried anything since, and there's been no urges. :thumb:

So I am extremely anti-CP for having it nearly fuck up my life

He's treating it as an inner turmoil, mainly because he's still 15 and a damn good guitarist too. (By the way his dad is fine with it)

dude I'm not fucked up anymore I'm completely fine I don't think the way I used to anymore. I'm not even going to ever think of thinking about doing it ever again. I'm cured, I don't have any urges to kidnap anyone. Because of what I did by helping myself, before I did something that would fuck up my life forever, I am now my own hero because I recognized the danger and prevented it from becoming reality.

I can walk out in public and easily zone in on the honies my age and be happy about it and not even think about the kids I just zone them out of my sight(If only I could zone out their screaming and yelling).

remember

I AM MY OWN HERO!! Smile

I was able to conquer my darkest thoughts and make them history, a thing of the past, and I didn't hurt anyone except for myself, and that only made me a stronger better person. I am now a volunteer for the Big Brothers of Canada, and I am spending time with my little brother every weekend having a blast and he always looks forward to spending time with me and can't stop talking about me, which makes me feel good about myself that I once again feel comfortable aroud kids without any dangers....Plus the kids mom is hot!!! :thumb:

so please don't call me fucked up because I'm not, I am cured

Anyways how about we put this behind us now that we have come to the conclusion that I'm not fucked up anymore, and just get back on topic about band names.

By the way thanks for the name generator but some of the names I got from the new list I posted were a result of that same generator, thanks though.

I tried the Band Name Generator when I was writing a murder mystery revolving around a band. The trouble was, I just wasn't invested in any of the names that came up, and anyway they didn't sound like the band I was writing about.

Finally, I decided the lead singer's favourite movie was Vanishing Point (pure, unadulterated car porn--very awesome) and gave the band the provisional name "Kowalski," for the main character in that film. Within three pages I realized there was no way they could ever be called anything else.

All of which means nothing except--pick something and try it on. If it sticks, you've got a name. If not, try again. But reviewing lists of possibilities may just frustrate you.
