Every concert that I've been close enough to the stage to actually see the concert, without having to watch video screens, all the guys(with the exception of Gord D.) were drinking Heineken.
Part deux: Gord is a Bruins fan because his godfather is none other than the one and only Harry Sinden.
Anyone concur?

Gord drank Heineken at BOTH Ottawa Bluesfests...you're right
And he's not actually related to anyone in management at the Bruins...not Sinden...one of Gord's relatives does the music for the games at the Fleet Centre. There's a thread about it here somewhere.

OK first , gotta say Heineken rules , it has a crisp flavour , no aftertaste , just crisp and clean , i'm sipping on one now  . As far as Harry Sinden , he is Gord's Godfather , that is a fact , and Gord's relative who works for the Fleet Centre is none other than his brother . I think his name is Pat , but could be wrong .
If I am wrong , you can flog me to death with any number of branches , willows , belts etc...

His name is definitely Pat , I have an interview with Ron McLean where Gord talks about Harry being Godfather to him and his brother Pat . Just had a listen.

Doesn't Gord Downie have more than one brother? I think both Canuck and Roy are both right.
I am not at home right now to access my video collection, but check the credits for the Henkstekel tour video. I remember seeing two Downie names credited with sound and video recording and possibly a directing credit.

The literal definition of "heksenketel" is indeed witches cauldron. However there is also another meaning... if you say something is a heksenketel.. youre saying its a mess, a chaos....

to clarify, gord's brothers are mike (older) the cbc employee and pat (younger) the fleet center DJ. tim downie is a cousin.

Things seemed to have died down here a bit...in terms of USELESS hip knowledge, I always wondered how many of the band members have kids. I know Gord has something like 3, but what about the rest?
