it's true though, i bought naveed the week it came out and ate it up like it was a gift from the gods, got see them live on the clumsy tour and that was the first big show i ever went to here in Sudbury (Smashing Pumpkins in T.O. bein my first), and then again on the hapiness tour, and they were stellar, and so were their albums...then Spiritual Machines came out. Musically it wasn't up to par with the rest of the albums, but i still liked it alot because i thought it was brave of them to put out a concept album in this day and age, and there was still a decent amount of really good music on it (right behind you, in repair, all my friends and a few others), also the video for in repair was great, probably their best. i hate life though, always have, always will, absolutely can't stand it, but of course, seeing as it was a huge hit and muchmusic couldn't get enough of it, they decided to go that route with the next album and the rest of their videos as well...it's a shame really, if turner wouldn't have split, and they woulda kept lanni on board, i'm sure they could've bounced back with a really kick ass album, but i guess it was not meant to be.

Up next for Bob Rock- The Tea Party. I have a feeling I'm not going to be buying "Seven Circles" if the first song is any indication. The Tea Party are better than that song! I hope they don't turn into a mainstream heavy rock act and their first single is hinting at that.
As for an opener, how about the Trews? :lol: :lol: :thumb:

As an aside, I also love the design of the new jerseys. Don't know if I'll get one but it's a good nod to the Canucks.
When I catch them on this tour,this will be my first hip show and perhaps the first time I skip an opening act. I've never done it before, but after sitting through EVE6 waiting for Bon Jovi to take the stage. I think I might. I've been to too many shows where the opening acts are nothing like who I'm going to see. I don't know any of the bands you've listed, well except for the beastie boys :lol:
Are any of the bands so far anything like the hip?

well, Junkhouse would be great, if you like the hip you'd probably dig them, i'm not sure that anybody mentioned them in this thread, but they're grrrrrrrrreat.

I'll come back to them- The Trews are just good old fashioned rock and roll. Don't dismiss them until you've seen them live. I don't give a crap about all the people hating them. You want to know someone who is similar to the Hip; well the Trews are a rootsy rock band with influences like the Hip and Zeppelin.
Other than the Trews, maybe you'd like the Skydiggers. Maybe Doctor can open too.

I'll get labasted for this but I would truly dig Sum 41 joining in on the show.
Yes, it'll get a buncha goofy teens out to the show too but the new generation has gotta learn about one of the canadian greats someway & Sum 41 are just plain fun IMHO.
Honestly though, I'm kinda surprised at some of the cantakerous old bastards on here bitching and moaning about Nickelback possibilities and OLP being shite now, etc. and "absolutely hating" them and such.
You sound just like your Mom & Dad's did when they heard you playing "Up to Here" on your gehtto blaster 15 years ago.
There's nothing wrong with good radio tunes (see: Somebody Told Me by The Killers) No it's not mind blowing deep lyrics...it's called fun people! Relax a little bit and accept the fact that bopping your head to a Nickelback tune doesn't constitue blasphemy. They ain't writing poetry, their writing rock songs. OLP, on the other hand, yeah they tried too hard to write poetry on Spiritual Machines and then went to the other extreme with the last album with radio fodder but they still wrote the labums before those and still put on a helluva live show (seen them twice...both great shows)
A mix of music is a good thing and any band can change opinions if they put on a good live show. Actually for me Big Sugar is one of them, not much for any of their tunes but yeah, their live show made 'em much more enjoyable...but didn't mean I was gonna buy a cd.
Why people feel the need to tear down bands as though they had cheated on them with their mother I have no idea. Lotsa other hateablethings in this world, a goofy rock band with fluffy lyrics hardly seems worth it but whatever floats yer boat.
