I have always felt this about Thompson Girl. Perhaps it's the accoustic feel it has, I dunno, but it is a departure for them...and I love it.

A story regarding Thompson Girl...I play volleyball Wednesday nights, and about a month ago we were all having beers after playing and I was talking to another guy about The Hip. This other guy, who I have only met a few times, pipes up that his ex-girlfriend is THE Thompson girl. I asked him to clarify and he said his ex used to date Johnny Fay and she was from Thompson MB, and was the inspiration behind the song. I didn't know him well enough to say bullshit, so I let it go.

Any of you guys know if that sounds reasonable or not?

No f'ing clue, but grooveless was referring to the song "Sherpa", not Thompson Girl.

Yeah I think he was just saying the way I feel about Sherpa being unique is the same way he feels about TG.

Sherpa is #11 on Henhouse...second from last. The album version takes a while to find its groove, I find, but the live versions from 1996 are exactly the way that song should be!
