*Pick one song for Kingston(On Pg. 5): WE HAVE SPOKEN! *

Just two cents from a Michigan fan who would love to be in Kingston, but thats quite a haul!

1. Escape (this song gives me goose bumps)
2. Long Time Running (how many lighters would be held high for that one?)
3. Good Life (but not in the middle of the set, Maybe the first song of the first encore, with all eyes locked on Gord as he sends the line out "lets get friendship right" to the masses.

I doubt I'll be able to make it to the show, but my 3 songs would be:

Cordelia (I would love to hear this song live... no luck so far in 9 shows)
Thugs
3 Pistols

I'm surprised that the Stereoponics even cover that song, if I were in their shoes I would respect the meaning of the song and keep it where it should be...off the playlist. But that's just me.

Cheers,
Goulet!!!!

It was released as a B-side for the single "The Bartender and the Thief." http://www.stereophonics.com/music/sing ... index.html

They covered a Hip song because The Hip are one of their major influences. The original name of the band was Tragic Love Company after their 3 favourite bands - The Hip, Mother Love Bone, and Bad Company.

I saw the Stereophonics open for OLP back in 2000 at the ACC; at one point in the show their guitarist (Kelly Jones?) threw the opening lick to NOIS into the outro of one of their songs, and everyone went mad.

Steve

p.s.: It needs to be said: how the hell could Mother Love Bone be a top three influence on any band? Well, other than Pearl Jam obviously... Wink

Get Back Again (an early favourite, yes, but I'm not sure how likely to get played)
Emporer Penguin or Escape
She Didn't Know (only because Highway Girl breaks the "first album" rule)

Escape is at Hand for the Travelling Man

Titanic Terrarium or Impossibilium (yeah, like that would happen!)

the "new" Chagrin Falls (When it was played during the IVL tour I loved it; everytime I heard it before then I loathed it. I hate the album version)

I'm going to suggest a Saturday night get together for any Hipbasers who can make it in to Kingston the day before. I'll gladly be a tour guide of sorts, showing people all of the Hip related highlights in Kingston - and maybe even a drive out to The Bathouse.

If you are with a group, looking for a cheap hotel, stay at the Howard Johnson, and ask for one of the family rooms with 3 double beds. Super cheap, and when I last stayed there, we slept 10 people in the room, and the hotel staff didn't say a word.
