stephen.....that pigeon camera was awesome..i remember being in the second row screaming the words to gord while he was looking right at me. What a show.

Somerville, 7/26/02: every light in the place goes dead. Stage drenched in darkness. Someone must have tripped over the wrong plug. But the band keeps playing three songs, in total blackness.

Then, during Hundredth Meridian, someone hands Gord a penlight. Next thing, he lies down on the stage, light illuminating just his face, still singing: this egg-shaped, grimacing, shaven, sideways head, floating like an island in a sea of night.

It was actually a little disappointing when the lights came back up.

Myself and Casey were there for the last two nights, and I think I can speak for both of us and say: boy are we sorry we missed that!

Gord forgetting the words to Pigeon Camera and asking those of us up front for help is a nice Sommerville memory too...

I was right up in front for that show, too, yelling out the words to PC along with everyone. The hell of it is, we all had a collective brainfart and sang the third verse when he was stuck on the second, so when it came time for the third, we were all stumped.

I'm remembering right that he sang the missing verse later, during one of the encores, right?
