All tickets are $20.00 CDN. Cash only. Tickets are non-transferable and selected participants will need to bring photo identification and have their guests with them to pick up their tickets.

On Thursday, Dec 8th at 5pm, all participants selected to purchase tickets will be sent an email with additional details. Those selected to purchase tickets will have 24 hours to claim their tickets or they will be offered to another participant.

I'm confused by the logistics. Tickets are cash only, and if you put in for a pair, both people have to be present to pick up the tickets. You also only have until Friday at 5pm to claim tickets. If this is the process, I'm thinking this is going to be difficult. I'm wondering if they mean that you have 24 hrs to say, yes, I'm going (i.e., "claim"), and then you pick up and pay for the tickets the night of. Or do both people have to be present to pick up the tickets Friday?

Anyone else understand this differently? I'm just thinking that this is going to make it difficult for some people who may have put their name in, but can't go through these steps (i.e., come into Toronto twice).

I read it as...
If you are selected, you have 24 hours to return the email saying yes or no. When you get to the Music Hall, you show ID, get your tickets, pay the $20 and continue diretly into the venue. Basically the same as the 2009 Music Hall warm up show, except pay at the table, not prepaid.

See, your bolded part is the part that bothers me. You could have a ton of people who may have entered for the hell of it saying "sure, I can go", but not showing up cause they actually live really far away and had no intention of ever going. Having people showing up within 24hrs of notice, paying cash, and picking up tickets, ensures that those tickets are sold, and then they can send further notifications for what's leftover on Saturday. Its the logistics of all that though, that I don't think were thought through. People from km's away have entered, and for them to have to come into the city twice is crazy. I'm thinking about this way too much. Would 5:00 just come already?

ETA: wait a minute, I'm stupid. I guess if the person responds by Friday 5pm saying yes or no, they (the Hip crew) will know how many tickets are left and how many more they can release on Saturday.

Hopefully it is more than that, after all it's a "fan" show, so "fan tenure" should be part of the equation. Not sure if the Hip's technology platform can practically support this concept, but it should not be that hard to go into the digital archives to look for registration dates, past fan show lotteries, past fan club registrations, etc. I would be happy to provide my Hip Club membership number from many, many, years and promotions ago.

Radio Show was played early in 1992 at their Toronto warm up show before they headed to Australia and then played on the Australian tour before they headed into the studio for Fully.

Pretty sure it'll be a staple for the tour, at least I would assume it will be. Would be a shame to hit the road and not even pull out a new (old) tune. That being said, I wonder if they will "test" anything else out?

Very curious what the entire format is going to be. A few random songs, intermission, FC, encore? Any "rarities" will probably be few and far between, except for the FC ones. Granted, after this tour, they won't be categorized as rarities anymore.
