No way!
He is nervous and green not wacked out of his mind. Don't confuse his trancendental state with a druged out stuper.

Listening to Speed River I couldn't help but notice the lyrics, "Hard stuff, give me a dose of the hard stuff. Okay enough. Okay enough of the hard stuff." I don't think that it necessarily implies drugs, just thought it was funny that as we're discussing the subject these new lyrics are being released.

I'm leaning toward the messy font lol. Probably to go with the smudged painting. And "The Tragically Hip" is likely white to symbolize day, and the album title in a dark grey for night.

Or that there are only certain colours/shades that will stand out against a dark blue background...

OR it's all a zoom of an acid tab and that's why it's all blurry. And maybe the tree symbolizes a joint. And maybe the leaves are the smoke. And maybe we're all dreaming and none of this is really real and the world and existence is just some elaborate dream that someone is having and it's not really real. Yeah....

Confusedcratch:

or maybe it's just an album cover.

PS: How can you talk about drug-induced album covers and not even mention Fully Completely?!?!?!?

What I've always kind of admired about this Band is that as close as I've been following them since 91 I've never really heard any major drama around alcohol and drugs. They have never run around making statments about the subjects and rarely would you see anything in the papers on the topic like so many other bands provide from time to time.... with the DWI's, brawls, possession, insane party's where the hard stuff did appear and then fans live to tell about it.... think about it... we all know alittle about the band... but they have set an example in my eyes by keeping there recreational, heavy or none -at-all use of alcohol and drugs to a very minimum I would say.

I know there is a few seconds in the heksenketel video where Sinclair is twisting away...caught on cam... .
Gord D back in the Misty Moon days is a little suspect...but as we all know rumours are rumours and Downie can put on a buzz anytime he's in character. I ran into some people in Rochester once on Phantom Power that said they have and would be "parting" with the boys... but thats it... and thats cool.

the first 3 times i saw the hip i was on mushrooms.....it was wonderful.....opening the show with "something on" in 99, i will never forget that yellow!

3 of us did them, and we were talking a lot during the show, and every now and then, we would look up and say, oh yeah, the hip are playing!
