Neil's going to hit Calgary on this tour, though it looks like Death Cab will be the opener instead of Wilco. I'm still pumped, but man I'd love to see Wilco open for him.

Also that DBT/Hold Steady double bill.... I'd kill to see that combo. DBT's put on a fantastic show at the Sled Island festival, just way too short.

You actually went to this show? I was really pumped about it, but ticket prices for the festival, combined with the length of the set, I would've preferred to drive to Edmonton to see the club show, but they cancelled that as well...I think I was never meant to see the DBT


And shut out of Calgary floor tickets...anyone get any extras?

Ya, the Sled Island festival was pretty good. The truckers set was too short, but was so freakin good. Easy to get right to the front, great venue and cheapish big rock (for a festival).

I'm out of town unfortunately for the Niel show. Havn't seen him since Beck opened for him in Van. years ago.

I just got my tix in the mail today for Neil Young, and now going to get tix to Fridays show (MMET/SRB/AW/54-40).

I saw Neil at massey last year, and i don't think that could be topped. Furthermore, if i wait it out, chances are Wilco is going to tour on their own after another album (2009 hopefully!) also in smaller venues.

It kills me to miss two of my favourite artists, but there's logic behind it i guess

I saw Neil at Massey as well, and I saw Wilco at The Mod Club a couple years back but I couldn't miss this double bill... even thought I agree with your logic.

great interview with tweedy. they talked about the tour with neil young. colbert warned him that touring with neil (a canadian who's been critical of bush) would land him on the no fly list.

they played a new song. a colbert report exclusive called wilco the song. it was wicked and hilarious. they name dropped colbert in the song.

I just bought two GA floor tickets for the Dec. 4 show. I didnt buy them directly from ticketmaster so i was just wondering if it's cool that the tickets were brown instead of the usual blue backround, or did i get the shaft?

If by brown you mean brown on the ends, with a picture of the ACC watermarked on the background of the ticket, then yeah you should be fine. They were printed at the ACC box office rather than a ticketmaster outlet.
