Thanks or the tip, I'll look into that card. I need to renew my passport but I'm not sure I'll get it in time. Washington State offers an "Enhanced I.D." for travel on domestic airlines and Canada. I wish they would just hurry up and start tattooing our foreheads with the mark of the beast and get it over with.

I actually had breakfast today with my buddy who works the border, he is Canadian and therefore works for Canadian customs, but lives here in The States.

Passport requirements have been once again delayed meaning that US citizens arriving in Canada by land or water do not need a passport until at least summer 2009.

Decent lineup, but the price is pretty steep and I mostly hate festivals.

Hopefully they'll tour elsewhere this summer!

Also I can't believe they don't let you bring in potatoes.

Canada's answer to Sasquatch!

Earlier this week Ear Candy blogged about Oregon's answer to Sasquatch! Now it looks like British Columbia is jumping on the destination festival bandwagon with the first Pemberton Festival. The lineup kicks the crap out of both Sasquatch! and the festivities planned by Ear Candy's stately neighbors to the south. Here are the details from Rollingstone's music blog:

The linup so far:

Coldplay, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Nine Inch Nails, Jay-Z, The Tragically Hip, The Flaming Lips, Serj Tankian, Death Cab For Cutie, Interpol, My Morning Jacket, Sam Roberts Band, Metric, Black Mountain, Vampire Weekend, The Crystal Method DJ Set, DJ Shadow & Cut Chemist, Booka Shade, Junkie XL, Dave Seaman, Wintersleep, Buck 65, Secret Machines, Sia, MSTRKRFT, Deadmau 5, Brazilian Girls, MGMT, The Fiery Furnaces, Mates Of State, Grand Ole Party, Carolina Liar, The Airborne Toxic Event, Monte Negro, Low VS Diamond, Annie Stela, M.A.N.D.Y., Tommie Sunshine, Chromeo, 3 OH! 3, Kevin Shiu, Timeline, Tony Pantages.

Did you notice Jay-frickin'-Z is part of the lineup? Crazy. Anyway, for those interested, the festival is scheduled for July 25-27.

what do you guys think of the VIP ticket prices, $599, my buddy wants to get in on that but I'm not to sure if i want to pay that much.

I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!

A buddy of mine swears by the VIP tickets at similar events......

I just can't afford that price plus hotel, food, beer and gas. $599 x 2 = like $5000.00 in American these days.

I guess when you break it down, your paying roughly $75 to see Petty, coldplay,TTH,NIN,SRB,JayZ,flaming lips,Death Cab, the top 8 bands for the $599,and you get the birds eye view, booze it up with the performers,(VIP lounge access, hopefully some performers will come in there) I think i'm gonna take that route.

Grabbed mine!!
I was thinking about VIP but really doesn't seem worth it. If I go back to Bonnaroo this year I will 100% get VIP since the camp site is the big bonus. Here it doesn't really seem that great. I decided to spend the extra dough for a Hotel in Whistler instead.

Also the link above for presale doesn't work properly so try this one:
