That's not what I was thinking of, however I could be thinking of another song, or who knows what. Maybe I just called it "seventh floor" in my head, and that's what I'm thinking of, lol! Thanks for the input!

I remember them playing it at the Washington 9:30 club show, (which I recorded on a cassette tape off the radio -- ahhhh 1996!), and they bleeped out the swearing with some awesome scratch noise which i will forever associate with that song.

I have that as a bootleg CD, bought in Kingston on Princess Street many years ago. Yes, the scratch noise, sort of like someone has hit ffwd on an old tape player to delete the swearing. It's worse than just a beep, because it's also much louder than the actual recording.

Love this tune, saw the Hip many times as it evolved inot its recorded version.

I seem to remember it being called Stereo at one point too. I assumed it was from Rob's use of his "stereo" effects box during much of the song. I admit, when it first surfaced in the middle of NOIS, I had my doubts. Now, it's Top 5 at least. The intro last July at the HOB in Chicago had the crowd buzzing about Jim Ellison. So much meaning in there, great song!

Yeah but Best Friends sounds very familiar to me though.
I wonder if that is what "we" were calling it before we new the name - like maybe when it was a jam in NOIS instead of his its own song in the setlist.

Everytime I took a train journey in Europe last year, I'd make a point of beginning with this tune...There's something about the motion of the tune, which lends itself to, y'know, being at the will of a moving train...What a fucking righteous tune.

I am totally the same. I just love this song. And although I'm surprised to see so much love for Escape, it's good to see.
