Listening to Afterdark on CBC a few weeks back and learned of Lydia Ainsworth's "Darling of the Afterglow" album. I've had it in pretty heavy rotation since.

Not really "rediscovered" as its an album I never ever forget about, but 45 years young today and still as fresh as ever......

Can't ever argue with listening to Dark Side.
It's sonic perfection was mentioned. I would also put Aja right up there with that.

Brilliant album. I still remember having my mind blown when Lanois and his band performed at ARA '93. At the time I wasn't familiar with his first album "Acadie", and I really only knew him for his production work with U2 and Bob Dylan. Little did I know he was also a killer guitar player, singer, and songwriter. I ended up buying this CD the day after the show.

Well shit, now I'm gonna have to dust this one off and give the CD a spin. I haven't listened to this album in ages. They're playing 2 shows at the Commodore here in Vancouver in a few months with the Skydiggers opening. I'm thinking maybe I should treat myself to a nostalgia kick and buy some tix.

As for this week, I've been getting reacquainted with this one over the last couple of days, thanks to Michael Barclay's book.

I love Edges of Twilight but Transmission is the Tea Party's best album. The show I saw on that tour was also my favourite Tea Party show. The band was cooking at that time. As for Triptych, I'd put it 3rd or 4th.
