Very cool. Be sure to post photos of the inside. Reminds me of some of the venues I was going to in Europe last year.

Detroit still has some of the most incredible venues in the USA that I've seen though..

Ottawa Bluesfest lineup announcement is tonight. I live 5 minutes from the concert site / the Canadian War Museum. This lineup always has a huge say in my summer concert excitement. I tend to listen to lots of artists performing in the lead up, and try to listen to acts on the bill I've never heard of as well.

Also... with the insane price of individual shows these days, the package Bluesfest offers is unreal value.
As much fun as I had at Osheaga in 2013 and 2015, it is way more expensive and the crowds are really hell to deal with there IMO.
The variety in the Bluesfest lineup always appeals to me more than the always very hipster-indie-rap-edm heavy Osheaga.

Will check back in here after the lineup is dropped and let yas know who I am actually going to see :music

Have you ever seen Gary Clark Jr? He's playing Chicago Blues Festival this year and I am contemplating going to see him there. Hoping he announces another tour soon. Seen him in the US and in Germany, but never in Canada. He is one of those guys you have to see live to appreciate and I think he is one of the best blues guitarists today.. He stole the show when I saw him at Farm Aid in 2014.

Gary Clark Jnr is fantastic...I saw him at the ottawa bluesfest in 2014, and I was in a sour mood when I went that night, and was debating whether or not to sell my pass, since I was getting burned out on live music. He fixed me that night.

I'm not particularly fussed by the bluesfest lineup this year, mainly because my first child is due right in the middle of it. I would like to go the night LCD Soundsystem and Gary Clark are playing, and the night Petty is playing, but I doubt I'll care that much by then.

Agree. I just saw him a week ago in Mexico and he was jaw-droppingly good. Great showman - did one solo behind his head. I love the looks on his face when he's playing... he clearly gets lost in the music. He's got a tight band as well. His two major studio releases are both excellent, although if he has one weakness it's his lyric writing, which is none-too-profound.

Yup..he is in a whole different universe when he plays. I agree on the lyrics part, but even musically he has gotten a lot better. I am not a huge fan of his first album. Sonny is not too bad though. He is just an artist that is so much better live. We know it and he knows it....that is why he is coming up with another live album...haha Seems to be a live album for every studio album he's got.

Just took a look at the breakdown of each night... The GCJ night looks really good w/ LCD Soundsystem, Phantogram, and The Shins....

July 6th is also pretty killer... Not a fan of Toby Keith, but DFA1979, Sam Roberts Band and Pokey LaFarge will kill it. I saw Pokey open up a bunch for Jack White on the 2012 tour and he is very good live. Again, not one of those great studio bands, but I remember having a smile on my face the entire time they played.. So fun..

Usually I'm not that interested in Montebello RockFest.... however who wouldn't want to see a bill with QOTSA & Iggy Pop?

My only qualm with RockFest is the sets are short. 45 minutes.

I could watch Josh Homme play one song for 45minutes...
