Just for the record, that Leafs/Habs game was a horrible display of hockey. It was sloppy and just horrendous. I think we should demand more of these professional athletes. I know I'm not impressed with the "supposed" best hockey players in the world performing like that. It was like watching a game of pinball.

Yeah, Don Cherry defending Raycroft brought some comic relief to the telecast.

You're talking about 2 teams battling for the last playoff position right?

What could you expect from Toronto/Montreal, both teams have suffered from injuries, both teams have gone through ups and downs, and neither team deserves to be in the playoffs....bottom line in the game, is that the Leafs won, and hoping the Devils beat the Isle Sunday, the playoffs are a whole different story (just ask the 8th place Western team over the last 3 playoffs)

I expect less sloppy play from not only those two teams, but from every team in the NHL. They are supposed to be the cream of the crop and most nights they can't even pass the puck accurately or hit the net from ten feet out or even poke check an oncoming player.

In the Leafs/Habs game, there were players left WIDE OPEN all night long in front of both nets. Is playing defense just an option? Do they only play it when they feel like it? What is with a goalie letting in a weak wrist shot from 40 feet out when his team's playoff lives are at stake? Professional players SHOULD be able to make tape to tape passes on a consistent basis, SHOULD be able to shoot the puck accurately and with high velocity on a consistent basis, SHOULD be able to tie up the stick of a player who is standing in front of his team's net.

Thank you Nashville!

Colorado was bound to lose one eventually. Thank god it was tonight. The Flames were up 2-0 and were pretty much dominating the Oilers until they announced the result of the Avs/Preds game on the jumbotron. Once that happened, the game became totally meaningless and the Flames basically took the rest of the night off, essentially giving the Oilers the win. I'm not at all happy with the effort, but we're in and that's all that counts. Time to rest up some injured bodies and get ready for the Wings. Playoffs here we come!

Still can't believe we lost to the freakin' Oilers though. That's just embarrassing.

Geez, man how many excuses do you need? They intentionally tanked the game after seeing the Colorado score? Confusedhock: Not likely. I never thought Calgary would ever lose to Edmonton because Nick Kypreos GUARANTEED a Calgary win. AHAHAHAHA.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to make excuses for their piss-poor play, and I doubt they intentionally tanked the game. But the team that sleepwalked their way through the last half of that game was NOT the same team that came out of the gate flying with a 2-0 lead. Once they knew they had clinched, the urgency disappeared from their game and they stopped skating. The biggest game of the season suddenly became the most meaningless game of the season. But that doesn't excuse their crappy effort. They could've easily kept their foot on the gas and put on a show for the hometown fans, but for some reason they decided to just mail it in.

Anyways, I just hope they get a win in Colorado tomorrow so they can at least head into the playoffs on a high note.

It might of been sloppy...but it was some entertaining to watch! I loved it Smile After all of that, the New Jersey Devils better win today. Let's go Devils!

And I'm disappointed the Colorado Avalanche are out, I wanted them to take the last spot in the West. The Oilers even found a way to beat the Flames, so all the cards were in place, they just couldn't hold on to their lead against the Preds.

What a way to end the 2007 season. The Habs/Leafs game last night was by far the most exciting game i watched all year long. It was right up there with Canada vs. USA in the olympics. it doesn't get much better than that. Back and fourth, soon as you think the leafs are down and out they come storming back. what a fucking game. i think my heart is still pounding this morning. NYI vs. NJD 4pm.

GO DEVILS GO!!!!! please start Brodeur!

LEAF NATION. :rambo:

Dude, last I checked, NHL players are humans, not machines. And guess what? Humans make mistakes. That's why they play the games.

As far as I know, there is no public onsale.
The Sabres season ticket base is so great that they actually had to turn people away from buying season tickets - and also, the season ticket holders are allowed to buy some extra seats to the playoffs - and many were turned away because I believe there are only 2000 or so single tickets per game that are not sold to season ticket holders, and those were gone like nothing.
It will be interesting to see how many Leafs (if they make it) fans will be in HSBC arena for the first round - because the only way to get tickets is to buy them from season ticket holders - now let's see where the dedication lies with our season ticket base - fandom or money.
My guess is most of them will be hipocrites and sell their tix for cash.

i looked for sabres tickets this morning, no dice. i looked for red wings tickets this morning, first round is sold out. i've only been to one playoff game. Montreal vs. Tampa Bay in Tampa Bay. Second round, game 2. So i got to see the Stanley Cup Champs play live, that was pretty neat. 8)
