Time to revive this thread. Currently kicking my ass:

Wilco- Star Wars
Awesome record. Best thing they've done in probably 10 years.

Jason Isbell- Something More Than Free
This guy continues to blow me away with each new release. Easily one of the finest modern songwriters out there.

Heartless Bastards- Restless Ones
My current favorite band. I can't get enough of them. I've got tickets for their upcoming Vancouver show in October, and I can't freakin' wait!

Social Distortion- Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes
Listened to a recent interview with Mike Ness. He says the new Social D album should finally see the light of day early next year.

U2- Songs of Innocence
I've been diving into their entire catalogue again recently, thanks to a cool podcast I found online called "U Talkin' U2 to Me?" hosted by Adam Scott of Parks & Recreation fame and comedian Scott Aukerman from Comedy Bang Bang. The two of them are massive U2 fans and have devoted entire episodes to each studio album, including discussions on b-sides, live show reviews, side projects and band trivia. They veer off topic quite a bit, and the show often devolves into a series of comedy bits, such as their "I Love Films" segment. But it's all very funny, and if you're a U2 fan it's definitely worth a listen. They actually managed to get the entire band on the show for their latest episode, and it's fantastic:

Me too! I was trying to encourage her to come to Ottawa after the Horseshoe shows when they were announced...
Alas, she just called me out on Facebook instead for not road tripping down.

All three of her albums are fantastic.
