BrenTheodore Wrote:That is a band that does so much better in smaller venues. It was by 4th time seeing them as a full band and that was by far the best. They just rocked the hell out of that stage.

I was planning on catching them Aug. 28 at the Molson Amp with City and Colour. I know it won't be anywhere near that type of set but hopefully the energy will still be felt all the way out on the lawn. Will definitely have to get a small club show in there somehow.

Come to Town Ballroom in Buffalo already!

This album just keeps getting better with each spin. Earlier in this thread I mentioned that I didn't think this record was as good as Welcome to the Night Sky. After spending two weeks with New Inheritors, I'd now like to retract my earlier statement and say that I think this album is as good as anything they've ever done. It's really grown on me.

Everybody on here kept going on and on about this Wintersleep band, and so about a year ago I decided to check out Welcome To the Night Sky. Wasn't impressed. Gave it two listens and put it away. About three or four months ago I decided to give it another chance. Blew me a'fucking way! This album is absolutely amazing. So after absorbing it crazy style for the last eight or so months I picked up the new one. I tried to keep my expectations low (especially with the knowledge that WTTNS was such a slow burn for me). This album is even better (at least to me) than WTTNS. It's one of those rare (near)perfect albums. I've listened to it 15 times in the last week, I'm just now weening myself off it to give the new GD record a listen. Anyways, just wanted to say thanks for the heads up, great band. Can't wait to see them live.

The new album has grown on me a huge amount. I really wasn't too keen on some of the tracks on my first listen, but after repeated plays, and hearing many of the tracks live, I have a new appreciation for it. I don't think it tops WTTNS, but it's damn good!

Here's my review of Wintersleep's show in London from a few weeks ago.

They're not available in my country, apparently. Sad Is that an official Black Camera video?

Don't worry, the video was boring. Gord's was pretty fuckin' sweet though (if not seizure inducing).

I got curious about a vinyl release about the new one and got this response from their webstore

Wintersleep
to me

show details Jun 15 (2 days ago)

Hi Clayton,

Yes - there will be vinyl for the new record. Not exactly sure how many copies were pressed, but it won't be a ton. They will be online as soon as we receive them, although I don't have an ETA yet.

Thanks,
Jonathan Achtman

New dates posted from September onwards for the fall. Including the UK and Canada, and I think a bit of the US.

Just check the website for all the dates.
