i agree with him.

I don't. There are still way too many penalties being called.

Raycroft obviously does not scout players. I know the chance of Ruutu on a breakaway is minute, and Ruutu played most of his time in the western conference, but that is Ruutu's ONLY MOVE. I don't recall him EVER not going to the backhand on a breakaway or penalty shot.

Looks like the new jerseys that will be on display during the All Star game have some magical powers.

According to the NHL and Reebok, the new uniforms allow players to skate faster, have greater mobility, and stay drier and cooler.

Magical indeed. Sounds like a good way to give merchandise sales a bump though...

Can the Leafs get a rush on those jerseys and start using them this season? I believe it is the only chance they have of winning it all this year

They should have started to wear them in 1968!

It's the original 6 teams that are fighting the new jerseys, the most. I say let Toronto, Montreal and Rangers keep wearing their old, slower jerseys. :thumb:

Who cares about jerseys that increase your speed –I will take an increase in my hockey vertical any day, enhanced by donning copperalls (proof positive in the above photo) -- Note: just don’t fall on your ass or you will slide 20 feet before you can get up again

Magical indeed. Sounds like a good way to give merchandise sales a bump though...

Are you inferring that the NHL would stoop to such crass commercialism as having all 30 teams comes out with new home and away uniforms in the same year just to make a few million dollars in merchandise sales? Bite your tongue!

Next thing, you'll be accusing them of introducing new third jerseys for every team in 2008/09, when Johnny Hockey Fan has saved up enough to shell out another 200-bones.

And certainly you're not saying that Sidney Crosby might not be such an enthusiastic supporter of the new uniform technology if he wasn't a corporate schill for RBK, are you?

I also wouldn't suggest that it goes even deeper, and that RBK is hoping that by introducing these new uniforms at the NHL level, they'll eventually be able to convince the CHL, AHL, NCAA, ECHL, and even minor hockey that they too need uniforms that will provide their players with said magical powers. Cause that's just crazy talk. :thumb:
