In View, the video . . .
#16

Maybe the video offers some insight into the meaning of the song. I haven't thought long on it, but maybe it has something to do with how our world today is so connected by wireless, and cellular and satellite that people are always in view....perhaps the video is ironic in that though everyting appears to be "in view," gord still can't get ahold of his little papergirl...off the top of my head...take it from there please, and don't hold back.

Just saw the video on Much More Music. I to miss seing the rest of the band in the video but hey... Gord is pretty funny to watch at times.

Great song ... sounds better coming out of a TV rather than a computer.

Can't wait for the new album.

Nice video. Gord can do it all! Still, would have been nice to see the rest of the band...maybe they could have been part of the mob chasing him or something. I du know. Good none the less.

A nice and hilarious video, although I'm disappointed with the black and white, as the photos from the shoot were so rich and colourful. Still, I can't see this video being one of my favs: Scar and Nashville both take the cake for me.

When I began listening and watching this I thought "awesome! this will be another great Hip video" ... and the best part of it for me was the little cut senes at the begining and end of the video where Pretend is played. Now I'm not saying that it wasnt a good video or that I didnt like it or anything but I have been in love with Pretend since I heard it in Stratford and the second the video cut out my jaw dropped. Well its still a good video but I have been watching it the past few times just for the little snip-its of Pretend.

I think the song sounded richer than the one on the web. I didn;t really like the cut scenes- I thought they were funny and all, but I don;t think it will help sell albums...Would've like to see some of the other members of the band too.

My first impressions:

Great video, it was thoroughly entertaining all the way through, with some major laughs and twists. I was happy to see a little more of Gord's acting, which has its own quirky style, although I think I missed a few of the jokes. I especially liked the shot when Gord pauses and sings in the mirror in the mall, and his expression when he is about to steal the phone.

The visual/filming style is unique as well, the splits between Pretend and In View were an unexpected surprise.

A bit disapointing that the rest of the boys didn't make an appearance, even just a quick cameo would have been nice. The ending was also a bit cheesy.

Edit: Can anyone identify the photos on the wall in the motel room?

Love the video. I found it hilarious. I think Gordie is making his bid as next staring role in the next Mission Impossible movie. Jumping up fire escapes and riding on the top of moving buses. That was good stuff.

I can't say how much I dislike the cuts to pretend.

The video is good..if it didn't have the freaking cuts -- breaks the flow of the song...or the damn phone ringing..stupid. That's just really stupid. uhg.

Am I the only one disappointed with the black and white. Times Square is rich with colour, and one of the most overwhelming places in North America. Also, Cunard Street and around China Town is also vibrant with colour. I just don't understand that directing choice (almost as much as I don't understand why/how a Pittsburgh/Jacksonville Monday Nighter can be so boring).
