I met Johnny Fay last night! My friend called me up to let me know that the Hip were rumoured to be at Flow Restaurant + Lounge in Yorkville, following the awards ceremony & dinner. (I used to work there & a couple of buddies know what a fan I am....) I headed down & waited around outside. Of the 5 guys, only Johnny showed up, but I managed to get his autograph on his way in. About a half hour later, the manager comes out & tells me to go into the restaurant through the back kitchen. I run in as Johnny jumps on drums with the house band, and they do New Orleans Is Sinking to a room of about a hundred people.

Awesome night :thumb:

Edit: possible photo of Johnny in this Friday's Toronto Sun, taken right after my autograph...I had about an hour conversation with the photographer while waiting to see if anyone would show up....

Always reading into what Mav posts: Just an assumption from my part. Ahead by a Century, The New Maybe, and Bobcaygeon have all been known to be acoustic. By MAv saying Primarily acoustic set, would it be safe to say that Pretend is not a acoustic song? Perhaps more of a rockin' tune? Let's pretend that this track is a solid rock song, and a foreshadowing of the new album to come. Tell me if I'm way off (Hip)base here MAv...

But then again, ABAC is also a primarily acoustic song also... some heavier portions with electric are in it too...
