well..he was in mystery men...shadow of the vampire..lots of weird indie-like movies as well..go to imdb.com and check it out!!
I just took my daughter to see "The Wild" and Izzard played the koala bear. It was a bit of a change of pace for him, I think.
Re. my Top 5 list (in no particular order):
1. Jerry Seinfeld
2. Eddie Izzard
3. Shaun Majumder
4. Rowan Atkinson

Although I understand that Lenny Bruce was a genius with a capital G, I've never seen anything from him, unfortunately.

No-one's mentioned Sam Kinison either. But there's soo many great comics that have come and gone, its really hard to narrow it down. Especially if your like me and love to laugh, I laugh all the time, I can find humor in almost anything.
Imagine a world before the "beginning was the word.”

he's hilarious, but i can only ever find one show from him...
this one??

No women? Shame on all of ya!
Just joking. I can't think of a woman to put in the top 5 either.
I don't listen to enough comics to make an educated opinion but some of the comics that make me hurt from laughing so much are Dave Chappelle and Jerry Seinfeld, and recently Dane Cook.

Drew Carey's stand up is hilarious, he's not really known for his stand up as much as his show. He wrote a bok called Dirty Jokes and Beer and it's one of the funniest books I've ever read. Those that have seen his stand up will hopefully agree with me that Bob Sagget is hilarious also. Norm McDonald was great back in the day. I saw a Tim Allen stand up special about 7 years ago and it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Someone mentioned Howie Mandell and I have to agree, his stand up rivals anyone's. Howie on Ice is great. There's alot of funny people out there. A few years ago Comedy Central put out a list of the top stand ups of all time. Prior was 1 and Carlin was 2 http://otakuboards.com/showthread.php?t=38909
