It was an early show to catch the music executives before they commuted home. My buddy and I took the train up from Washington, D.C. and walked in about three songs into the set. They played about 7-8 songs from FC and maybe in homage to the site, rocked them hard and almost in a punk style. As soon as they left the stage I made my way to the "dressing room". It was about 10 feet by 15 feet, right behind the stage and a real dump. The room was filled with the band, Jake Gold, a couple of wives, and a couple of friends of their's in some band (can't remember their name). I'm 6'-05" and about 250 lbs and the door to the room had no lock so they asked me to hold the door closed to the 30-40 people outside trying to push their way in. All of the sudden, we heard the crowd outside start to sing "Fiddlers Green". It started out ragged, but got stronger and better as they all picked it up. The conversation in the room stopped and we were all quiet, listening to the song. The band all kind of looked at each other, except Gord D, who was kind of looking at the ground, shaking his head and muttering "wow". I've never heard the boys do it live and I don't expect to, but that was a great moment.
What a great story! Thanks for sharing!
