If anyone has noticed a verse missing from the live versions of this song, you might be interested in this. In each of the five shows of Gord's that I've seen, the following verse has always been dropped:

"Are they dead or worse, alive? Is there something that you're trying to hide? Russian accent - Las Vegas cap says, 'can we talk about all that, inside?'"

After three years of wondering why this was, I finally got to ask Gord about it after the last Calgary gig on November 2. Gord was surprised at my question, mentioning how impressed he was that I noticed the missing verse and my asking him about it.

Basically his answer was that there are six verses in the song on top of the repeated choruses and bridge, and four of the verses comprise the middle part. These four verses total about 90 seconds of the song , which is too long for him during the live version. So, the above verse got chopped and stayed that way.

He said that since his CMG tour, the song has been performed that way. After thanking me for asking, he mentioned that he will consider maybe adding the verse to future live versions.
