Hey Dame, if it's on file-sharing networks, then get it there. No need to come in and solicit donations from a place you know is the last on Earth that will actually give you the song for free, particularly if you openly admit you have zero intention of buying it.
As for the notion that Hipeponymous is a cash grab.....I guess that's all a matter of opinion. I think that given the amount of extras that are in this set, one would have to be awfully jaded to view its release as a cash grab, but that's your perogative. Chalking the live DVD up to "a show I've already heard" seems like a *massive* oversimplification to me, considering this disc's soundtrack is 5.1 DD audio, but again...that's your business.
And finally, to whomever said Dame was ruining your day.....that's only if you've decided to allow him to.

P.S. Nice work on the hipeonymous launch site, MAv!!

I have been a fan since 94, 40+ shows. I consider myself lucky to be able to have a professional video of a show that I went to. Greatest hits packages serve a great purpose. I have bought many for my girlfriend as gifts so she can enjoy the many songs on them without purchasing multiple cd's such as Stones, Elvis, Red Hot, Shania, Sheryl Crow. The Hip are a also a business and not just in it for the heck of it, I am in business too. The Hip want to make money and lots of it doing what they enjoy and getting satisfaction from ecstatic fans. I appreciate my customers and I actually do like them too. I get satisfaction from solving their problems, it's very rewarding. I also get satisfaction when their cheque comes in, and I want their money always and forever, that's life! For a band such as the Hip with a long history and many studio albums, this is like a monument to their great success. I wish them well and hope they beat their sales expectations! I purchased at Future Shop Ajax, I was disapointed that I could not find a copy in public view. When found, the "specialist" said he didn't even know if he could sell it, was unsure about release date? I hope that doesn't happen at the majority of the stores. The Hip had to compete with Star Wars DVD promotions, it was also released today. I did notice on the way out, they now had 5 copies of Hipeponymous on the table beside Revenge of the Sith. Sorry to bore ya, enjoy the package!

This thread is pissing me off. Not the fact that Dame asked for the song, but that fact that everyone felt the need to flame.
Face it- all you stone-throwing hypocrites downloaded No Threat as soon as that copy was released. Studio version or not, available to buy yet or not, it was the same thing.
I can't blame Dame for not wanting to shell out $20.00 for one new song (I know they remixed the others, but honestly). There's no need for everyone and their mother to come in here and rip him apart.

The only No Threat I downloaded was from the Tracker-the Moncton show to be precise. Get your facts right before you judge everyone the same. I think the issue isnt the downloading itself, people do it all the time and no-one can stop it. Its the fact he posted here and asked for it, is what irked people the most. As far as Im concerned its not even an issue anymore, so why you're wading into it now I dont get, let it go, its over.

Couldnt let it go eh..well if you come into a thread that I post in and make a generalization like that, Ill respond plain and simple, personally I dont care who downloaded the song. But you dont start threads asking for copyrighted material, just like if someone put a Hip livedownloads show on the tracker Chris would take it down and ban you. I hold no grudge against Dame, I respect his opinion. As for the rest of your post Im not even going to respond to it or talk about it anymore, in fact Ill never post in this thread again there's nothing left to say about it, so say whatever you want about me I could care less.
I strongly urge you to re-read this entire thread and look at my posts, I wasnt one of the first to address the issue of him wanting the song, I actually got on him for calling Hipeponymous a "cash grab" But I wasnt a jerk about it or got all hot about it, so go bother someone else now, Im tired of this crap. Im starting to regret even typing this post now...
As for the 360 I will have it tuesday morning, you can come over and play if you want.
