I wouldn't have known this if I didn't see this on the board.

Seriously, I don't think I've watched more than 5 minutes of Much the last few months. Do they even show anything half-decent anymore?

Nope...you aren't missing a thing.

Well, in a stunning turn of events, I've found something worth watching on Much!

I've been flipping channels and happened on Much's program, The Wedge. I've seen it a bit in the past... they play videos (yes! real videos!) of alternative & indie bands... sometimes it's hit and miss. But so far tonight they've had a winning lineup! New songs by Metric ("Monster Hospital") and Franz Ferdinand ("Do You Want To", or something like that) that sounded great, "I Predict a Riot" by The Kaiser Chiefs (I know some people say it's overplayed, but I don't care, I love it and think it's as catchy as f*ck), "Soul Meets Body" (at least I think that's what it was called) by Death Cab for Cutie (someone talked about them in another thread... this song definitely sounded good and made me want to hear more of their stuff), a new one, "Always Love" by Nada Surf (I didn't think these guys were still around! Thought they were just one-hit wonders, but this song was very good) and "Box Full of Letters" by Wilco... I haven't listened to a lot of their stuff, but this song was pretty cool, too.

Quite a six-pack right there! :thumb:

Nada Surf have some amazing songs ("Mother's Day" from The Proximity Effect being one of the gutsiest things ever written). Their last album however, Let Go, is a near masterpiece.

This is not to be confused with the album with identical name by Avril Lavinge. If you can find Nada's Surf's Let Go, pick it up. It's worth it for the song "Blonde on Blonde" alone.

Didn't know they had new stuff on the way. Very cool.

Yeah, The Wedge is the only half decent half hour of TV on Much, but whenever I tune in and hope to catch it instead there is some smug blond bimbo talking about how hot some dude is. I've got more tolerance for bad commercials than I do for her.

To echo Spycouple's sentiments, Let Go by Nada Surf is a great CD. And yes, Death Cab for Cutie's newest is among the best of 2005.

Bradford was good and so was George Strombolopoulous. His new show on CBC Newsworld is good, I think someone mentioned it before on here. I do like it when Nardwaur is on MuchMusic though, that guy is hilarious
