Hey folks! Thanks for not spoiling anything. I just finished watching season 4 on DVD, and I'm looking forward to season 5. Can't wait to see how all this turns out. What a fantastic show!

Season Five is amazing. The finale was brilliant. Just a beautiful way to wrap up the series. Sucks that its over though. Great TV like this leaves after five seasons yet Friends lasted for what felt like 30 years.

Absolutely the greatest 72 minutes of produced fiction I have ever seen.

I'm trying to think of ways to describe it that aren't cliched... all I know is that I was invested in those characters for five years, and the final episode was like a personal experience.

I kept thinking, as the music swelled and that monatge progressed, that I should really be watching this with someone, with family. When it ended, I wanted to go out and run, I wanted to find love, I wanted to feel good about everything, I wanted to run for office and never fear anything again. That's great art I guess, that's the only way I can explain it. It was inspiring, as transformative as television can get.

I welled up with tears on Sunday night, all the while telling myself that I shouldn't be affected: "it's just a fuckin' TV show." But it really did make me think about my life, my family, my mortality, and my potential.

I just watched the re-broadcast, and was smiling as I welled up with tears again.

Go out of your way to see this episode, and if you've got the time, it'll be all the more powerful if you can check out the previous episodes.

The last five minutes of Six Feet Under are affecting. Use it up. Don't save a thing for later.

Very well put Stephen. It got.....errrrrr.....rathy dusty in our living room last night. :thumb:

Check out this Six Feet Under link (at HBOs site) for some cool obituaries on the key characters:

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.hbo.com/sixfeetunder/obituary/episode63.shtml">http://www.hbo.com/sixfeetunder/obituar ... de63.shtml</a><!-- m -->

Also, I downloaded the tune that was played for the last five mins:

"Breathe Me" by Sia.

Tough not to think of the show when listening.

Cool, thanks. That song has been stuck in my head for two days. How do you pronouce the artist: "Shia?" "See-Ah?" "Sigh-Ah" I don't wanna look like a tool at the record store if I don't have to.

That's a great clip. My favourite death was the call centre shooting rampage.

We've definitely lost one of the greatest shows in the history of television. TV doesn't get much better than that. The good news is that there are still a few quality shows on the air. Ya just have to know where to find them. I wasn't able to catch the 4th season of "24", but I heard it was the best one yet. I'm just waiting for the DVDs to come out. "CSI Vegas" is still at the top of their game and showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. (for the record I don't like either of the spin-off shows). "The Shield" is another incredible show with great writing and superb acting. It's gritty, it's nasty, it's violent, and it makes NYPD Blue look like children's programming. And last but not least, the latest season of The Family Guy has been pure comedy gold.

But as far as ensemble drama/comedies go, I don't think we'll ever see anything as good as "Six Feet Under" again. It was just so damn brilliant, funny, and emotional. I've never seen anything like it. It's truly a work of art.

I thought I read somewhere that the Arcade Fire were supposed to have a new song on the season finale. Did anyone hear it? Is there a soundtrack?

Ya here it is:

from NME.com

Arcade Fire are set to release two new singles this month -including 'Cold Wind', an exclusive new track written for the last scene of the last episode of the final series of 'Six Feet Under', which came out as a clear 7" vinyl on August 1 and album track 'Rebellion (Lies)' as a CD single on August 29, following their performances at the Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds Festivals this weekend.
